About us
Since 1984 clients have been coming to Il Focolaio to get that authentic Italian taste that is reminiscent of their grandmother’s cooking. Il Focolaio, in fact means fireplace in Italian. The name depicts the maple wood burning oven where each and every one of our pizzas and roasted ingredients are cooked. Our fireplace, as in the old country, not only brings forth the food but also becomes the gathering place for our clients who always feel welcomed and right at home. Our recipe for success is simple, serving up pizza using ingredients that only a true pizzaiolo would use, such as extra virgin olive oil, top quality tomatoes and only the freshest ingredients, all prepared with passion and a love for cooking to bring you the end result that you will never forget. We invite you to come and enjoy the taste of Italy with a nice glass of wine from our wine list. Enjoy it all on our terrace in the middle of downtown during the summer months.

The food & atmosphere were fantastic, but our experience was nearly ruined by the unprofessional behavior of one of the waitresses. She struggled to coordinate with her coworker, implied that we were lying about our group number, & then loudly reprimanded another employee who was simply doing his job well. It created an uncomfortable situation for our group. Thankfully, Farzad saved the mood-he truly knows how to treat guests & provided excellent service. His professionalism & kindness made all the difference.View more

Volcano calzone was delicious & the atmosphere & service were excellent. They also have English menus if needed. We arrived around 5pm & a line quickly formed after us so I would suggest arriving early.View more

La pizza est excellente, avec une pâte fine & croustillante & des ingrédients de qualité. On sent vraiment l'authenticité & le savoir-faire. 🍕👌mais, l'expérience sur place laisse à désirer. L'endroit est très petit, il y a une longue file d'attente & beaucoup de bruit. De plus, le service n'était pas accueillant : les serveurs semblaient stressés & irrités, ce qui a un peu gâché l'expérience.
Si vous cherchez une bonne pizza, c'est une adresse à tester, mais peut-être mieux en commande à emporter pour éviter l'ambiance désagréable du serviceView more

The fact that this place is over 4 stars is a crime to Italian people everywhere. This is a tourist spot / last ditch resto on a hockey night. Don't go here expecting anything remotely close to what an Italian pizza should be. Service & atmosphere is cool though.View more
