Ibéricos Taverne à Tapas Espagnoles delivers a warm, welcoming atmosphere and consistently impressive food, with fresh ingredients, generous portions, and beautiful presentation across a vibrant tapas menu and standout paellas. Diners rave about the seafood paella and paella valenciana, the octopus and cod fritters, croquetas, jamón ibérico, patatas bravas, fried eggplants, and a wide range of tapas that arrive hot and bursting with flavor. The service is frequently described as attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, with thoughtful recommendations and a lively, authentic Spanish ambiance. The tasting menu is praised for sampling the menu's breadth, and the overall value for money is highlighted, even if a few reviews note higher prices or occasional slower service during peak times. All in all, the place feels like a memorable, convivial Spanish dining experience that invites return.
Great service all around. We ordered one tapas dish, the mixed charcuterie which we upgraded to have the bellota ham (a must to get). That was excellent. It comes with two types of cheese & two types of meat & 4 slices of bread with tomatoes.
As a main dish, we got the seafood paella. Large dish for two. Honestly, nothing special about it. It was an ok dish.
Finally, we got the churros with chocolate dip. That was our least favorite of of all three dishes.
Overall, I'd give it another try with the tapas to discover more dishes.

You feel like in a tavern in Spain. The food is amazing & the service pretty good. Definitely recommend it for a bit of taste of the Spanish food. Definitely recommend the Paella, & the croquetas are incredible.
This place is incredible. Luckily I was able to slip in & get the full treatment. 5 course meal, dessert, wine. Zero complaints. This place blew me away. Everyone should try this experience!
December 2025 Update:
Went back & tested out 3 tapas, & a couple cocktails. Still outstanding. I mean OUTstanding. Truly a gem in Montreal. A must try.
Stopped on a whim while walking St. Denis & we were met with the most amazing service. We got a pitcher of one of several sangria options & it was wonderful, followed by a top notch espresso martini. & two great glasses of wine selected from an array of choices brought by our server Ernesto. We had the tasting menu & every dish was incredible. Special shout out out to the Jamón, the seafood, & the paella.
Yesterday I visited Ibéricos - Taverne à Tapas Espagnoles & really enjoyed the food & the atmosphere; both were excellent.
As a small suggestion for improvement, it would be helpful to adjust the coat rack, as it is quite high & difficult to reach, especially during winter. Additionally, each time the entrance door opened, a strong cold draft came in, which was a bit uncomfortable.
Aside from these points, everything else was very good. Thank you for the pleasant experience.
Food: The flavors were good & prepared well. You also get to try all the options from the first two services & dessert from the menu. However, one type of paella will be split among your party. Portions were good!
Service: Quite slow. We were there from 6:30 & only left at 10:15PM. We were really enjoying our time at the beginning until we saw the time & noticed people who got there much after who ordered the same menu somehow caught up. They also nearly forgot to give us our shrimps so we ended up having it with the paella. It was just so long.
The beef cheek benedict with arepa: meat was tasty n tender, loved it! The arepa was either not cooked or my teeth are just sensitive, it's like i was grinding corn grains instead of chewing. Poached eggs were more like boiled eggs in the benedicts. I asked for virgin mimosa, yet they served OJ. Friendly service, nice ambiance.
