HELM (which is an acronym for Houblon (Hops), Eau (Water), Levure (Yeast) & Malt) is an unpretentious brew-pub which promotes quality and local products in an urban setting. Aside from the in-house brewed beer, we also offer a wide selection of Quebec cider and American wines. We also offer a simple cuisine featuring fresh ingredients. Its decor, both rough and refined, its big, central bar, the lights are what makes HELM a friendly place, perfect for discussing and meeting with friends.
HELM microbrasserie offers a warm inviting atmosphere with a standout beer selection and a menu that pleases both hearty eaters and lighter appetites. Guests repeatedly praise the quality of the food from burgers and quesadillas to poutine, vegan options and well rounded dishes, with generous portions and tasty flavors. The service is consistently friendly and attentive, able to accommodate large groups and ensure smooth experiences. The casual welcoming vibe makes it a great spot to watch a game, hang out with friends, or unwind after a concert, and the dog friendly policy and pleasant terrace add to the appeal. Occasional art exhibitions and events further enhance the experience. Overall, Helm microbrasserie is celebrated for good beers, tasty bites, and a team that makes visits enjoyable and memorable.
Our very first meal in Quebec. As visitors from Alberta, the dining experience was disappointing. We came to the place directly from the airport after a long flight, but our water never got refilled, & it was hard to get hold of our waitress once all the ordered dishes were delivered. My friend, who didn't want to drink as we still need to drive from Montreal to Quebec city, had to drink my beer to relieve his thirst.
Very nice microbrewery in the Mile End.The service is very good. Excellent selection of beer so that everyone can enjoy one. There are other iconic cocktails to try out! The food is particularly good, such as the burger & the poutine. The vibe is also really nice, but it gets a little loud later in the night, which makes it harder to talk to other people at your table. I feel like they could reduce the music just a little bit. Overall, I would recommend!
The bartender was so knowledgable about his beers, I came in out of the blue & he gave me a tasting & I told him about beers I liked & he had suggestions. I'm sure this is a nice place to hang out in the evenings.
I had the wings, which smothered a layer of the most poorly cooked, brown & soggy fries I have ever seen. My wife's poutine was much the same. These fries measured by any yardstick were dumpster quality. The beer was good, but not enough to want me to return.

I'm so glad I discovered this place, I'm absolutely in love with it. The beer is PHENOMENAL. Best brews in Montreal I've ever had & it's not even close. Also great vibe, great art, just all around a treasure of a place.
