HELM (which is an acronym for Houblon (Hops), Eau (Water), Levure (Yeast) & Malt) is an unpretentious brew-pub which promotes quality and local products in an urban setting. Aside from the in-house brewed beer, we also offer a wide selection of Quebec cider and American wines. We also offer a simple cuisine featuring fresh ingredients. Its decor, both rough and refined, its big, central bar, the lights are what makes HELM a friendly place, perfect for discussing and meeting with friends.
HELM microbrasserie offers a warm inviting atmosphere with a standout beer selection and a menu that pleases both hearty eaters and lighter appetites. Guests repeatedly praise the quality of the food from burgers and quesadillas to poutine, vegan options and well rounded dishes, with generous portions and tasty flavors. The service is consistently friendly and attentive, able to accommodate large groups and ensure smooth experiences. The casual welcoming vibe makes it a great spot to watch a game, hang out with friends, or unwind after a concert, and the dog friendly policy and pleasant terrace add to the appeal. Occasional art exhibitions and events further enhance the experience. Overall, Helm microbrasserie is celebrated for good beers, tasty bites, and a team that makes visits enjoyable and memorable.
Great selection of beers & great atmosphere. Very friendly staff & explained the beer choices very well. We tried many of their beers; La crème Du mile end(light but must try) & Koala were our favourites.
The beers were delicious, but the nachos were very disappointing despite being named after the bar. They were cold when we got them, soggy on the bottom, & looked thrown together haphazardly. Whole cilantro stems, some nachos without any toppings, & others buried under a sea of raw tomato & corn. Fine for 5$, not for 22$.
Service was average, atmosphere bustling & pleasant. Decent, but I don't think this is the five star experience everyone raves about. Maybe we got unlucky with food last night.
Atmosphere was great, awesome beers & the food was really great. Service was on point despite a busy night. I do recommend booking a table to be sure they have place.
The burger is good - & that's about all I can say that's positive. The fries were soggy, Cesar salad was the worst I've ever had at a restaurant (small, some brown lettuce leaves, virtually no dressing), & for a place reputed for its beer they somehow have only one NA option, & an import at that (offer a local BSA or something!). A little more on the pricy side, too, for what you get.
They have maybe a few more beer on tap than... then, I remember. Anyway long story short I had one, & to make a long story short I thought it was good, expesially (especially?) the special light beer. There I go, rambling again, long story short I went there once.
Great atmosphere. Awesome beers. Pretty solid combination! The staff there are super friendly, the bathrooms are always clean, & there is usually ample room to post up for the evening. Definitely check it out.
My husband & I were really impressed. We had great service (thank you Vanessa, our Bartender/Serveuse extraordinaire), the food was delicious, the two micro beers we had were also delicious, & it was a very cool vibe, atmosphere. It's easy to see why it gets good ratings. We will be back.
