Went here for a birthday dinner. It was my pick because I love Portuguese food & often make some of the dishes at home.
The food & service were outstanding. It is tapas style so we ordered several dishes to share, wine, & dessert. Every dish came out so well plated, down to the smallest detail. The octopus was pure perfection & the port wine tasting on the dessert menu is not to be missed. The caldo verde soup is one of my favoritea to make at home & did not disappoint.
The interior was authentic Portugal & interesting. The service was so well timed that it felt choreographed. I can't wait to come back.
Came here with a group of 7 coworkers. Got the tasting menu with wine, port wine, ice wine. Tried the cheese plate & honey. Everything was amazing. Stayed there from 6:30-11

Recently visited & did the Chef's tasting menu. The entire experience was outstanding. Unique & delicious meal. Service was friendly & efficient. Would definitely recommend Helena!
We were looking for some place to eat & literally stumbled across Helena. We were able to book a seat at the bar. The staff was friendly & super helpful. We had one of their specialty cocktails & wine. Both were excellent. The tasting menu was excellent although way more than you can comfortably eat. Everything was delicious. The steak one of the best I've had in years. For a great dinner & amazing service, give this place a try!
Best Portuguese cuisine in Montreal, hands down. Chef Helena's creations are not only delicious but beautifully presented. Each plate is like a work of art. We enjoyed the tasting menu with wine pairings, & every course was exceptional, from the fresh seafood to the tender meats, with flavors that were both authentic & creative.
The service was warm, attentive, & knowledgeable, which made the evening even more enjoyable. The staff explained each pairing & shared details about the dishes, showing real passion for the food & wines.
The ambiance is refined yet welcoming. Helena is perfect for a special night out or celebrating a milestone. Portions were generous for a tasting menu, & the pacing was excellent, giving us time to savor every bite.
We left feeling that Helena offers not just a meal, but a true culinary experience. Highly recommended for anyone seeking fine dining in Montreal, especially lovers of Portuguese cuisine. We'll definitely be returning!
In the years I've spent working in fine dining as a cook, to the restaurants I've been blessed to sit down & witness the excellency that makes such an impact to cities, Helena is by far the greatest experience to date. The Atmosphere & staff were just the beginning to what is one of the best kitchen's someone can enjoy. Its not often you're lost for words when going through a tasting menu & tonight was an exception. I truly look forward to what will come in the future inside the doors of this establishment & will be back soon enough to create more memories curated & supported by a phenomenal team. We had the tasting menu & the food met high expectations & the presentation was great. Atmosphere is calm & service was attentive. They were able to accomodate some of our dietary restrictions. Would definitely come again

We had the tasting menu & a bottle of vinho verde. Food was delicious & the restaurant was very accommodating for our family (we dined with our two kids). Everyone was very helpful & friendly. We'd go back again, but with all of that said we felt that the food was not 100% authentic Portuguese (my wife lived in Portugal for many years).
One of the best restaurants in Montreal. Whenever friends are visiting from out of town, i would always bring them to Helena! They love it! Great food & ambiance. We tried their tasting menu & was excellent.

Simply amazing. The food was A1 & we decided to have the tasting menu & we're pleasantly surprised. Can't wait to return & can easily say that it has earned a spot in my top 3 best high-end restaurants!
Incredible food with impeccable service. Organized a work event & from to finish the team went above & beyond. Some in the group had dietary restrictions & it was handled with brio. We had a tasting menu & every dish was beautifully done. Everyone really enjoyed the experience. The star of the night for me was the octopus. It’s the best I have ever eaten. It’s nice to see a restaurant who focuses on quality & authenticity & understands how important customer service is. I highly recommend them!
Most memorable meal we have had in years. Tried the tasting menu with wines paired. What a surprising culinary experience! Fantastic service & wonderful way to celebrate a special anniversary. We will be back! They keep it cool & that is exactly the way I like it, but maybe bring a sweater if you don’t run hot like me :)
