I came here with my parents while they were in town & wow! It was a phenomenal experience. Our waitress gave us excellent recommendations for starters. I need to know what the chef put in the dressing because the asparagus salad was delicious. & the octopus was incredible!!! All of the sea food was incredibly fresh & the flavors were super well balanced. My fish came with a sweet potato purée which was almost velvet-y it was so smooth. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Our server was very friendly & helpful. She recommended the seafood platter for 2 & it was delicious!!! Great experience. Really glad we chose this place.
I cannot recommend Helena's any more. Truly authentic Portuguese fare but with the sophistication & care of a veteran restaurateur. As a person with Portuguese roots, I was impressed & satisfied. The caldo verde tastes like my grandmothers. It ain't cheap but you do get what you pay for.
Great place, the staff was exceptionally great. Loved our waiter, recommended me really good gins. I loved them. We were there on a Friday, & it was pretty full! The food was good. I split a bunch of entrées & tapas with a friend.
It's always a great time at Helena - the food, service & people are extraordinary. I recommend to anyone who wants a great time in a relax & Portuguese decor.
Incredible food with impeccable service. Organized a work event & from to finish the team went above & beyond. Some in the group had dietary restrictions & it was handled with brio. We had a tasting menu & every dish was beautifully done. Everyone really enjoyed the experience. The star of the night for me was the octopus. It’s the best I have ever eaten. It’s nice to see a restaurant who focuses on quality & authenticity & understands how important customer service is. I highly recommend them!
I came to eat with a group of friends for my birthday. Everything was perfect! The food came on time & the service was amazing. I would recommend this place for a date night as well. The ambiance is wonderful!
Ayant déjà été chez Helena en couple & ayant ADORÉ notre expérience tant au niveau de la nourriture, l'ambiance & le service, nous avons décidé d'y retourner avec 3 autres couples afin de faire vivre l'expérience à nos amis.
Malheureusement, nous sommes tous sortis déçus de notre expérience. Tout de suite en partant, le pain amené sur notre table n'était pas frais. Nous avons tous pris le menu dégustation suite à la recommandation de notre serveur. Nous n'avions même pas eu le temps de terminer nos apéros que les plats ont commencés à débouler. Nous n'avions pas eu le temps de terminer nos premiers tapas, que deux autres assiètes sont arrivés. On se sentaient vraiment stressés au point de le dire au serveur. Ça n'a pas marché car nous avions eu un plat tout de suite après. Suite à ça, le calme plat pendant une bonne heure. Plus rien. Le service était loin d'être constant.
La nourriture quoique très savoureuse, n'était pas assez chaude (pour les plats chauds). Bref, pour le prix payé (250$ par couple incluant taxes & alcool), ce fut une expérience très inégale comparée à notre première expérience en couple.
Très bruyant comme atmosphere. Nous pouvions seulement discuter avec le couple à notre côté.

Gorgeous atmosphere - really cool lighting, & kind of a lit 'mosaic' on the ceiling creates a really cozy & cool vibe
Service - spot on. Water was attentive, explained the various dishes to us, & even kept his cool when a member of my group was condecending - i'm impressed.
Food - mmmmm nomononomnom :) The pan seared scallops were pretty awesome with bacon? on top. Had the steak on top of these tiny little crispy fries.. very tender & delicious meat. Dessert was like a little jar of sorbet very good.. & those little 'flan' like Portuguese pastries. Delicious but wayyyyy too small! the size of a golfball.. I wanna see baseball sized ones next time haha
Overall I was blown away by the level of food & service. I recommended it to a bunch of people since going & will go back myself next time I'm in town!
