We came to celebrate my husband's birthday & called ahead about a high chair for our baby. When we arrived early around 6:20pm, the restaurant wasn't busy, but there wasn't a high chair available, which was stressful. The food was surprisingly bland for a Lebanese restaurant, portion sizes were very small for the high price, & the service from our server Sam felt rushed. I had mentioned it was a birthday, but no dessert decorations or birthday acknowledgement were offered, unlike another table nearby who received sparkles & a song. At the end, I didn't tip because I felt the service did not match the experience I expected, & I later noticed Sam seemed visibly upset when showing our bill to the host. Overall, the evening didn't feel special & fell short for a birthday celebration.
Exceptional service & food. Second time there & quality is consistent. Will be one of my go-to places in the old port.
Oddly enough, the only negative aspect I could find is that the hand soap of their washroom has such a strong & lasting smell that its overwhelming when eating with your hands (eg hummus).

I just had my bridal shower at Hayat Restaurant, & everything was perfect! The food, décor, & ambiance were amazing, so elegant & beautifully done. A special shoutout to our waitress Hajar, she was absolutely the best! So kind, attentive, & made the whole experience even better. I'll definitely be coming back with my family, & I highly recommend everyone to visit Hayat Restaurant!

La nourriture était extrêmement bonne, des entrées aux plats de résistance . Toutefois, le point déplorable est que nous avions réservé pour un anniversaire avec un gâteau qui aurait dû être dégusté sur place. Sans avoir été prévenu, on nous annonce, une fois arrivés au dessert, que nous devons payer 5$ par personne … c'est votre politique & nous la respectons. Mais à l'avenir prévenez les clients … je n'aurai pas fait livrer un gâteau si j'aurai su … c'est juste une question de décence & de respect. Nous étions très inconfortables à la fin du dîner . Je tiens toutefois à remercier le jeune homme que je vais nommer - bouclette - qui a été d'une candeur & d'une disponibilité digne du restaurant - contrairement au gérant qui visiblement n'avait rien à cirer de nos remarques . Merci donc à vous , bouclette , & mes excuses de vous avoir jeté en pleine face mon insatisfaction. Bon succès.
amazing Lebanese food. we ordered the lamb shank & the braised beef, the meat was very tender & delicious. Portions are pretty demure, but the quality of the food makes up for it. lively Arabic music added to the atmosphere.
We spent 2 weeks in Quebec & this was our best meal. Everything was delightful. Our server (Catarina?) was over the top. She was so attentive, helpful & natural. A great culinary experience was had!!

Les plats étaient savoureux & bien présentés. Le mélange des épices, la tendreté de la viande & la fraîcheur des accompagnements étaient parfaits. Le serveur est très accueillant, attentionné & souriant, ce qui rend l'ambiance encore plus agréable. J'ai adoré chaque bouchée, un vrai voyage culinaire plein de saveurs orientales !
The food was very well prepared & presented. The service was also top notch. I would highly recommend Hayat for anyone looking for upscale Middle Eastern food.
