Found this place completely on a whim while looking for something a bit healthier, & I'm so glad we ended up here. They're vegetarian-friendly, which was a huge plus. I ordered the fattet batinjan with Impossible meat & it was genuinely incredible, one of those meals you keep thinking about after.
We sat at the bar since we didn't get a table, & honestly the service there was amazing. Kerry was so nice & fun to talk to, which made the whole experience even better. The overall vibe of the place was great-warm, lively, & just a good energy. Everyone in our group loved what they ordered.
Highly recommend saving room for the Syrian ice cream. Absolutely worth it. Would 100% go back.
Our waiter Nathaniel was the best! My wife & I never had Lebanese food so we let him pick out dishes & he didn't disappoint. Food was excellent, must try! The vibe is awesome too!
Food was amazing, vibe was immaculate, & staff was super nice & friendly. Will come back again 100%!
Love the vibe & the food. Nathaniel is a great server with a really positive attitude. Made us feel so welcomed :) The baklava pancakes are fantastic.
Good food, good vibes, great ambience. Nathaniel was a fantastic server!
I made reservations here for my friend's birthday yesterday. There was a group of 11 of us. I loved the ambiance & decor of the restaurant. I ordered the lamb shawarma & hummus for myself & I got to try the shish taouk, Jerusalem artichokes, fattoush salad, shish barak, & the short ribs. My lamb shawarma & hummus was perfectly spiced & tender, while the hummus was creamy & velvety which paired great with fresh pita. I was also surprised by the Jerusalem artichokes, they were fried, I never thought artichokes could taste so good. The seasoning used for this was absolutely impeccable. The fattoush salad was also great & tasted fresh. The chicken shish taouk was juicy with a delightful char, the side potatoes that came with this was also amazingly delicious with the spices they used. The beef dumplings were mediocre tasting, I didn't find them to be a stand out. & the short ribs mixed with a creamy sauce was also an odd pairing of flavor. I found the service good as they were attentive & quick to serve us. I did bring a birthday cake in which they charged $5/pp cutting fee. There were these large chocolate pieces that were used to decorate the cake, in which I realized the server never asked if we wanted to eat them. I wish they would have considered this because it was part of the cake & a waste of money to be just thrown out as some of the guests would have liked it. Overall, I thought the majority of the food was well prepared & flavourful. I enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant, however it felt the space was a bit tight. & lastly, the service was good.
Really great food & service! The owner & waitress were super attentive. The only issue is that its very expensive for what you get (a non-alcoholic drink was close to $20) but the portion sizes are decent & it has a nice vibe on the inside.
Great meal! Our server recommended menu options & they did not disappoint. Great vibe of many different ages. Worth the visit!
My very picky pallet doesn't normally like this type of food bc it's either under/over seasoned/overcooked. But to my pleasant surprise, the food came out balanced & very tasty. The vibe was just right. Not an exhaustive menu but I'll take a short list of things well done over a wide selection of mediocre any day. Another gauge for me on how well a restaurant does is when I see patrons of the cuisine's origin filling up the place & Hayat had plenty of "locals". Big thumbs up. I'd put this restaurant up against Damas any day. Last but not least, our waitress (Camilla I believe), was a step above on service. My only "beef" is the valet parking at $30, which is a bit excessive.
This place is clean & stylish. The service was top notch & the food was delicious! Real attention to detail but with a relaxed vibe that made us comfortable right away.
Hayat truly offers a fantastic dining experience with its great vibe & welcoming atmosphere. The moment we walked in, we felt the positive energy. The highlight of our visit was the exceptional service provided by Valerie. She was incredibly nice & respectful, always approaching our table with a warm smile. Valerie's knowledge of the menu was impressive, & her helpful suggestions made our meal even more enjoyable. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the ribs plate, perfectly complemented by a creamy sauce that left us wanting more. Overall, our experience at Hayat was superb, & we will definitely revisit again. Highly recommend this gem!

An amazing restaurant from vibe to food, this is a must on your dining list in old Montreal. Middle Eastern cuisine was fantastic as was the service & the music. Brian the manager was so welcoming & Jessica our server guided us through our dining adventure.
