Reviews paint Greektown Grill as a lively, welcoming spot that serves authentic Greek cuisine with fresh ingredients, generous portions and good value. Diners repeatedly praise dishes such as calamari, grilled octopus, gyro, pita, lemon potatoes, moussaka, pork souvlaki and pikilia, noting flavors are vibrant, well seasoned and reminiscent of traditional Greek cooking. The atmosphere is described as warm and casual with attentive, friendly service, and many guests also commend the restaurant's catering for large groups and events. While the majority express high satisfaction, some notes point to crowded spaces, occasional noise and sporadic service delays during peak times, and a few menu items receiving mixed reviews. Still, takeout and dine-in are both favored and the West Island location is frequently highlighted as a solid choice for Greek cuisine with portions that satisfy. Overall Greektown Grill is regarded as a top pick for authentic, flavorful Greek food, friendly service, and a welcoming vibe, with opportunities to improve space management and consistency at busy times.
Knowing this place very well from the laval location I am sorry to say there is a big difference between the 2. Only the kalamari & fried zucchini were at par. The rest not even close. All the meats were not that great esp the yero. Have no idea what I was eating. Service was slow very under staffed. I will stick to my laval location which is constantly great.
Delicious every single time. Attentive service & efficient. Atmosphere is a bit cold & the tables are too close to one another. Only one small thing, when its quiet, the staff gather at the bar & chat which is fine, but as guests we dont need to know your life stories. Other than that, its a go to!
Greektown Grill is a fabulous representation of authentic Greek cuisine as far as I know it. They feature your Canadian favourites- souvlakis, gyros etc. as well as some plates you won't find at the casual Greek spots. Bit ashamed but I went for the former because I was just craving a nice pita for lunch. The space operates as a formal dine-in but the seating is set up in a casual atmosphere. The server was professional, effective & polite, I could tell he had worked at other restaurants in the past & knew his craft. Price point is medium, very slightly leaning upwards but depends on your order.

We had such a great experience eating here! The food was absolutely delicious! The pita bread was fresh & soft, the chicken was flavorful & cooked perfectly, & the tzatziki was spot on. Even the fries were amazing! We also ordered the soup of the day : a beef barley & vegetable soup & our little one devoured it! It was so tasty that we mentioned it to (what I believe was) the owner, & he was incredibly kind & even offered us some extra to take home. Such thoughtful service! The waiter was also super attentive, & everything about the experience felt warm & welcoming. I didn't get a chance to take more photos, but I have to say the calamari was fresh, crispy, & tender. Absolutely 💯. Highly recommend!
My friend said the dill salad was drenched in oil & salt & the scent of the feta was so strong it could blow you off the sidewalk. I had the pork souvlaki stick plate with an extra stick. While the flavour was good, the portion of everything was half the size of the same menu Item at Marathon or Souvlaki authentique. Sorry, but I need to go where I get a nice big plate.
Souvlaki Authentique?? Are you serious. That takeout place overcharges for below average quality food (think: similar quality to the Greek fast food outlet in the Fairview food court--not good!). But if it's big plates of poor quality food you want, then yes, Authentique is for you. If you want delicious fresh, healthy fare, then Greektown Grill is the place to go.
Been at least 5-6 times now & every time, it's amazing ! The pikilia platter is great to share. The grilled shrimp is simply wow ! The dill lettuce salad is my go-to starter. Highly recommend.
I have recently traveled to Greece & eaten a lot of real Greek food. In Montreal, I have also eaten at many of the Greek restaurants that consider themselves'authentic'.
This is not authentic. I find that it's geared towards the North American palate.
I had a lunch special that consisted of a pork Souvlaki Pita, Greek lemon potato wedges, a salad, & a soft drink. The potatoes were very good, the salad was ok, the Souvlaki not so much. The cubes of pork were tiny but tasty, there was hardly any tomato & all I asked for was no onion & tziziki on the side. The pita was pretty empty.
My friend, who recommended this place because she eats there often, had the Moussaka. She liked it.
Will I go back? Probably not. There are lots of Greek restaurants that are better.
