Review Summary

GaNaDaRa is frequently praised as a cozy and casual spot in the city known for its authentic and delicious Korean cuisine at affordable prices. Many visitors highlight the tasty variety of dishes, such as the flavourful bibimbap, crispy tempura udon, and popular chicken cupbap, noting that the portions are often generous and satisfying. While the restaurant space is small and can sometimes feel lively or crowded, the overall experience is consistently defined by the warm, friendly, and efficient service provided by the staff and owners. Despite mixed experiences regarding service pacing and ambient noise, the restaurant remains a highly recommended destination for a quick, comforting, and enjoyable meal that captures a welcoming, home-like atmosphere.

My friends & I have been to this ganadara location quite a few times during the semester, we were always pleased with the service provided & always left with a full stomach!! The food is to die for - the rosé tteokbokki comes with plenty of sauce, 3 mandu dumplings & 2 big sausages which is plenty for it's price - the pricing is very reasonable & the service is quick so it's a very convenient place to get food in between classes!

This seems like an authentic Korean place & it was near to where I was staying while in Montreal. If you can't take spice, do stay away from the spicy dishes! If you like spice, this is great! I tried the spicy Soondubu & it was spicy. I thought there was a little too much oil (chilli oil?) in the soup too. You'll need to crack the raw egg over your hot soup when it arrives. Despite it being too spicy, it was good comfort food. I will return again but probably try something less spicy. :) There aren't many seats in there so you might need to get it to go if it's full.

Cramped place, not really great for having a sit down meal, but if you're just looking to grab food & go it's excellent.

Good place to grab quick lunch. It is to be noted that the bar version is better. The food was good, but nothing exceptional. I would not visit again, but it is cheap & my friend absolutely loved it. She regularly visits. I had the rosé tteokboki & it was pretty mid. If you do go, do not go during the winter. Going in the winter is a hassle as they are no hangers for coats & the chairs do not hold your coats really well. The floors are going to be filled with brownish water since it is a small place.
