The food was good, the drinks are very over-priced for the teeny tiny cups they come in, & the service was abysmal. Worst service we have experienced in a long time. I almost didn't tip, which would have been a first for me, but the waiter was hovering over my shoulder so I still gave 10%. I regret it, though, because he really seemed like he did not want to be there & couldn't be bothered to be sanitary, kind, check up on us, bring the bill, etc. It was a stressful dinner because of the exceptionally poor service. The chefs did a great job, & the location is cute. The patio looks like it would be a great spot to dine! But, the drinks need to come in normal sized glasses that match a fair price, & the wait staff needs a lot more training in customer service & sanitary practices.View more

We were a group of 6 with a reservation for a Saturday evening. We were excited to be out & had a very entertaining time despite all of the issues. The atmosphere was good, we were able to converse comfortably in a semi-private location. Even being advised that there were new staff that night, there was a lot left to be desired. To start, after being left with menus for >30min, we were warned that pizzas would take at least 1hr, some had waited 2hrs. We ordered calamari & a bottle of wine to start (which were both good!), took more time to decide, all choosing pasta options (5/6 from the Table d'hote menu). 3 of us got the Escargot as the Table d'hote starter, it was goopy, bland, & didn't have noticeable pieces of escargot. We didn't complain about the starters, we were still hopeful about the mains. 3 of our mains arrived, a Penne dish served with Linguine (they ran out of Penne) one of 3 seafood casseroles, with garlic linguine, & my dish, Veal parmigiana described as "served with garlic pasta", the same as the casserole. I was informed as my plate was placed in front of me that they ran out of garlic pasta & asked if I would like fries. I originally wanted a pizza, so this was already not my first choice. I said I did not want fries & asked if the 3 casserole dishes would get their garlic pasta, yes they would. I asked if there was a different kind of pasta, No. Finally we decided amongst ourselves that a friend & I could trade the fries for pasta ourselves. The 3 other dishes were served, 2 more seafood casseroles, 1 came with garlic linguine, the other with garlic PENNE. The last dish was another linguine-subbed penne dish. The veal parmigiana was disappointing. While the veg was nicely roasted, the veal had a sour sauce on it that had me questioning the freshness of the meat, which was also dry. The waitress came to see if everything at the table was okay, I told her about the veal dish. She offered me a drink for free, I agreed to a glass of wine. She removed my food from the table. The 3 people who ordered the seafood casseroles all agreed the sauce was goopy & they could not taste the seafood, it was not what they expected. We were all still enjoying ourselves as we all had the night off & were excited to be spending time together. The wine was good, & the 2 linguine-subbed penne dishes were enjoyed. We laughed about the issues. Finally it was time for our dessert & coffee/tea. We chose 5 creme brulee, 1 cake. The creme brulees were good, but they werent all the same size! We laughed at the absurdity. If we had to imagine what else could have been messed up, we would never imagine being served tepid water for the teas! Again, we found this very amusing & were still enjoying our evening. We ordered a vegetarian'Belvedere' pizza to go as we wanted some snacks for later. We ended up eating it the next morning, it was very good, even cold! It's a shame that we didn't order pizzas in the first place, considering how long we ended up waiting to order, & that the restaurant was clearing out anyway, that probably would have worked out better! There was no problem splitting appetizers & wine amongst the different bills. However, I was charged the full amount for my Veal Parmigiana meal. I clearly didn't enjoy it, the waitress took away the almost full plate. I was not offered a replacement, only a drink. The drink is a nice gesture but it is not worth the >$50 before tax that I was charged. I didn't complain as we were all in good spirits & I didn't want to sour the mood, but as we left our group agreed I shouldn't have had to pay for my order that I didn't eat. The waitress was courteous, patient & was trying her best to keep the service good while dealing with the mishaps. She was right to warn us about delays for pizza, but maybe the kitchen should have warned us about all the pasta replacements before we were served. It is odd not to match 3 orders of the same dish for the same table & to have 1 dessert a different size. They might have been short, & it can be bumpy with new staff, but it was a lotView more

View more
View more
