Came to Maison Foo Lam for dim sum. Service was quick & the food came out pretty fast. I've been here before & it used to be a true staple for dim sum, but unfortunately, it doesn't taste quite the same anymore. I'm not sure if there was a change in chef or recipes, but I definitely noticed a difference in the quality & flavours compared to my previous visits. It's still decent, but sadly not the staple it once was for me.

Service was fine besides one of us getting scolded in front of other patrons for what the waitress deemed as an inadequate tip. Food was alright if not standard for chinese food in the city. There are flies absolutely swarming this place. Not sure if this was just a bad night but we killed at least 5 or 6 of them. I recommend just going to another chinese spot unless you're ordering online (they have great portions which can last you a day or two) or you're reaaaally craving chinese & want to stay in the area

I don't understand why the review are not higher as a regular customer for more 10y the ratio price/quality/quantity is the best in Montreal it always tastes exactly the same every single time very god portion even with Uber Eats which is the way I eat it I highly recommend
: stomach beef stew , chicken legs the best in mtl , fried squid is a huge portion , seaweed seafood fried rolls , baby squid , *only the steak rib it's not their strength

Quite traditional dim sum place (no cart) with horrible service 😅 the food is quite fresh, decent dim sum. Definitely satisfying if you are craving for Cantonese food.

Best asian rice in the city. Best pork chops, best General tao sauce, best singapour noodles. Hands down💯💯🙏🏾 Ido suggest you to take out. Service slow & not the best atmosphere to sit in though..

TLDR: food is average, nothing special & the service was terrible (+mandatory tip for party of 3). You get better service if you speak their language.

I've come here multiple times with my family before & will say that the food quality has declined ever since Covid hit (& even then it wasn't that bad), but today I've noticed that the food was way worse than their prime. I can only describe it as'mid'.

The food wasn't the worst part though. It was the service. First off, it took a very long time for our server to come get our order. The food came quick, yes, but it wasn't our server who served the food so I can't count it. When it came time to pay, she addressed my mom in a rude tone simply because she was pulling money out of her wallet one by one. On top of that, when the money was handed to her, she DEMANDED a 15% tip (Apparently the tip my mom initially gace was not enough). Mind you, we were a party of 3 not 5 & she only came by our table ONCE to fill up a single glass of water (there were 2 other empty ones). A tip shpuld be OPTIONAL especially for a bottom tier one.

I also noticed the server passing by tables more often if they spoke her tongue.

I don't reccomend it & will make sure to tell my friends & family to bever come here again.
