I went on a Sunday night and when I arrived I was the only one there. I ordered a small cheeseburger with fries to Jaymee and got my order after the 4 people that came in right after me.
The employee seemed to have done it by purpose as he knew some of the other customers and he wasn't shy at all to serve the others right in front of me and it made me feel disrespected . Finally, I got my order when everyone else was gone, go figure!
My order was also wrong as he did not remove the pickles as I asked and I had to remove them by myself.
I've been to Five Guys in Boston and I liked it so we decided to go to the one in Dollard des Ormeaux. BIG mistake. Socially challenged staff, overpriced food, very basic surroundings, we will never ever go back there. One word :DISGUSTING
First time.... and last time.
My wife and I each ordered a burger fries and a drink... $30!! I asked for my hamburger all dressed, after biting into it, I discovered it had about a tablespoon of boiled soggy mushrooms, forcing me to pluck them out...... who puts rubber tastless mushrooms in a burger unless it specifically calls for it? Lettuce was bitter and brown around edges, a chunk of a tomatos butt end and overkill on the Velveeta cheese overpowering any taste that could have possibly existed from the paper thin beef patties.
No plates, no tray, not even a paper place mat to eat on, just the brown paper bag they throw the food in to eat off of.
If you want to offer a rustic or bare bones burger joint type atmosphere and service, you shouldnt be chargeing prices comparible to restaurants with more comfortable surroundings, better tasting and presented food and actual table service.
Good. Not my first 5 guys experience (been to others). They cook your burger when you order it. Delicious! and the toppings are free. A bag of fries is really a BAG of fries and they let you refill your soft drink! I wouldn't call this place cheap, in fact it's probably among the most expensive fast food burgers I've ever had. Is it worth it? YES!
Great, friendly service, and all the FREE peanuts you want while you wait for your burger to be cooked (perfectly!) We also loved the hot dog.
Five Guys is probably the best burger I have tasted. They also have good cheese hot dogs. It's great that there is now a West-Island branch.
The employees are almost always very nice and polite (which is rare for a fast food) and the place is quite clean. The music (a selection of 70-90s music) is a very nice touch. It is also nice that they have peanuts to keep you busy while you wait for your food. Overall the place has a nice American feel to it but the table set-up and decor can be a bit better.
The problem is that the tables are rather far from where you pick up your food, since they only call your number and you might not hear them if you're busy talking with friends. It would be a lot better if they use a screen that displays the number instead (and on which they can also show sport games).
The fries also can sometimes be a little on the soft side but when they are crispy they are very good indeed.
Anyhow, it's probably the best tasting fast-food there is, so trying it out is a must... but beware, it is very fattening and addictive.
