The food here is mediocre. One of the tacos we ordered, the New El Pastor was unpalatable. Despite telling our server we didn't like it, & eating maybe half of one taco, it was left on our bill. The cabbage slaw on the fish taco was dry as a bone. There was not enough lime or salt in the guac. & when I asked for hot sauce, they offered me Tabasco... Tabasco at a Mexican restaurant? That must be a crime... I think it's possible this restaurant was good before it expanded to several locations. My partner had it 3 years prior & remembers it being good. Honestly I'm shocked they can support rent in downtown Montreal with that food quality.View more

Tacos were tasty but a bit overpriced. I was quite disappointed at the beer options as its a Mexican restaurant with no mexican beers. I would suggest to hold at least one mexican beer on the menu.View more

Honestly this place doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. It's not bad but it's far from good. Menu is a weird fusion, almost ordered what I thought was nachos to find out it's actually "nacho dumplings?" Ordered the quesadilla, it had such a strong truffle flavor that pairs horribly with the cheese. Sorry guys everything was fine service food was prepared well just not a good cohesive menu. :View more

I attended a private party here with about 60 people. The food was good! I really loved their tacos & ceviche. The decor was incredible. Every time I looked up I saw something else I wanted to photograph. The only constructive feedback I'd give is that I wish their guac was seasoned (herbs & salt) a bit more. Their fish tacos & medianoche margaritas are beautiful.View more

This is a fun restaurant to go to with friends or as a family. We have tried both & enjoyers ourselves very much. The drink menu is excellent & there is a good variety of food. We tried the chefs choice for $45 per person. We got an excellent selection of tacos, & appetizers as well as some fantastic ribs. They were sweet & tender with a little cumin for some Mexican flavour. The service was fast & efficient but we did not feel rushed. I will definitely eat here again.View more

I've visited Escondite many times & at different locations. I usually had a good time & enjoyed the food, but that's no longer my experience. The food quality has decreased perceptibly, it was not tasty nor fresh. The service was unpleasant & curt. Our mains were brought out less than 5 minutes after our appetizers, leaving us feeling rushed & with very little space on the table.View more

It was an ok experience, the food has a better presentation than the taste itself. The menu give an idea that you're gonna experience a complexe taste which us not the case. Though we were impressed by the great service! The first picture is the nachos which were the best. The second one is the tuna tostada there was way too much cucumber & barely an overall taste as if it was just a salad that was not eatable. The tacos were not bad , my favourite was the fried chicken one.View more

I was on my own so I sat at the bar. They had a cordless phone chargers in between every other seat which i needed & it was helpful. Bartender Nick was so friendly!! Helped me decide on food & beverages. Good conversation. Food was delicious!View more

Quick service with food & drinks. We had several different tacos which I can call no better than OK. The pollos hermanos chicken was too hard, crunchy & dry. The al pastor pork was tasteless. Leaving the steak taco as the best. The cornbread was good though.View more

Il ne faut pas s'attendre à un restaurant typiquement mexicain. Des cocktails à la tequila sont disponibles, mais pas de bières typiquement mexicaines. Il y a bien sûr une Lager Mexicaine de Knowlton qui est bonne, mais pas de Pacifico, Modello, Corona, Dos Equis... Le service n'est pas mauvais, mais disons inexpérimenté.View more

Went with a group & split 5 tacos. The environment was pleasant, the decor inside was very fun, although we could've used more water. We split 5 tacos, my choice was the fried chicken which was crispy & tasty. The Korean fusion taco was very interesting to try as well. Perfect to go to if you're touring the old port at sunset.View more

Leaving this review here because DoorDash review process is atrocious. I love this restaurant, like love ❤️ this restaurant. But the 9 polos tacos 🌮 I ordered were empty & dry. No coleslaw. No sauce. The mango salad was minuscule for $13.50. 😔 the guac & chips were excellent & thank God or we'd be starving. $104 for three 3️⃣ people. Disappointing.View more
