Edit Oct 2023: Food was not as good as it was on our last visit. The guac & chips was very disappointing. The gyoza nachos looked & tasted different/ less flavourful, fish tacos were still very good, but all the others were just meh. Outdoor patio is cute.
May 2023: AMAZING food. The gyoza nachos are to die for (don't judge them by their name) & the tacos are super delicious. Exceptional service by Carla. The ambience is also super cool & fun -eccentric decor!
Escondite Vieux-Port in Montreal is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, I was enchanted by the warm & cozy ambiance. The rustic decor & dim lighting create an inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for a night out.
Now, let’s talk about the food. The menu is a delightful fusion of Mexican & Southern cuisine, & every dish I tried was a flavor explosion. The tacos are a must-try; they’re packed with fresh ingredients & bold spices. The cocktails are equally impressive, with a wide variety to choose from.
What sets Escondite apart, though, is the outstanding service. The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive, & knowledgeable about the menu. They made great recommendations & ensured our dining experience was top-notch.
Whether you’re looking for a romantic dinner spot or a fun night out with friends, Escondite Vieux-Port delivers on all fronts. I can’t wait to go back & explore more of their delicious offerings!

j'aime beaucoup cette chaîne de restaurent. c'est très bon mais il s'agit de celle que j'ai le moins apprécié des trois que j'ai visité...les portions sont différente, le platting est différent & ça change un peu l'essence du plat & la balance des saveurs. j'ai manger sur la terrasse & c'est super joli
I loved the tacos; they were delicious. However, I had higher hopes for the pork ribs, but they turned out to be average & not very fresh. Usually, I get free nachos in Mexican restaurants, or even french fries with ribs, but that wasn't the case here. I'm disappointed. In general, if I go there again, I'll only order tacos (though it's unfortunate that you can't order mix combinations of tacos).

Dans le vieux port très sympathique & service amical. les tacos sont très bons. On recommande même si le stationnement est difficile. La solution le métro :)

Touristy place with outdoor seating on saint Laurent street overlooking the old Montreal port. Service was prompt & courteous. Food was inexpensive for two tacos compared to other taco joints. The Korean style tacos I ordered were $11 & tasted good. The inside of the restaurant was pretty cute. The place however is quite touristy but it’s a good place to try for the quality/price.
We took the outside seating on a warm September afternoon. Service was a little overworked, but adequate. Started drinks with a Margarita & a Dos Equis on tap. We ordered tacos & quesadilla.
The tacos were Al Pastor (pork) & Barbacoa (lamb). Everything was good. Prices were OK. No complaints, but I felt it could have been better. I have been to the Escondite in Verdun & it was great. We really enjoyed it. For that reason, I only give one star.
Buzzing spot with superb staff, great food & even better cocktails. Our waiter suggested our dishes , all of which were delicious & not too much food. Great experience
