We came here expecting a Mexican restaurant, but it felt more like a bar than anything else. The food was very overpriced for the portion sizes, which were surprisingly small. Unfortunately, nothing we tried felt authentic or truly Mexican ( I'm am Mexican & this was disappointing) atmosphere is good nice decoration but nothing else …
If like Mexican food you should their various dishes there. Their tacos are fantastic
. Particularly like their Camaro e's Y Queso & Acapulco Ceviche. The chicken wings are also good.
Beau petit restaurant Mexican à laval. Leur menu version tapas donne de bonne portion. Qualité prix 6etoile!! À essayer leur tacos au steak, berria, & au poisson!! Juste trop bon!
Absolutley delicious!! We did the sharing platter & our waiter did a great job making sure we'd like what it comes with. The food was so delicious not a single bad item & we tried like 7 or 8 things! Really tasty lots of mexican in Montreal is flavorless this was so good
I have mixed feelings about this place. On one hand, the food was absolutely delicious, some of the best tacos I've ever had, to be honest. The Korean-style & al pastor tacos were incredible & full of flavor, easily the highlight of my visit. The ambiance is cozy & inviting, with warm lighting that sets a relaxed mood. Plus, the staff are super friendly & make you feel welcome. On the other hand, the portions are a real letdown. As a Latino, I have to say that Mexican food is meant to be generous, & for the price you pay here, the serving size is disappointing. I get that it's their business model, but for the price, I'd much rather pay more for a proper portion. Overall, while the taste & quality are undeniably great, the value for money just isn't there. I'd recommend it as a one time experience or for a special occasion, but if you're looking for a satisfying meal that feels worth the price, there are better options out there.
Excellent Mexican fusion restaurant! Their tacos are delicious - make sure to try the Baja, Pollos Hermanos & Al Pastor ones. The mango salad & the el general chapo dishes are equally good!

Very busy place. Food is good, almost actual mexican food. I didn't like the guacamole, it looked a little to green , almost florescent. Service was great. They do 2 servings a night but if you get there at 6 PM for first service its plenty of time. I would go back.
It sounds like you had a decent experience with the service & food, but the atmosphere was lacking the vibrant Mexican spirit compared to other competitors.

Very disappointing experience; we ordered the Escondite experience. Regardless of whether the price is worth it or not (which personally I think it s overpriced for what we got), the food taste was less then average. We got a cucumber salad (not impressed at all with the taste) a guacamole (maybe the only minidish that we could finish), 4 small tacos (pork & beef very dry) & ribs which was average. Seeing the stars given by other people who actually ate there; I am very surprised & disappointed. The staff did not even distinguish which platters were the shared ones & we had to guess. My personal opinion: i do not recommend this Mexican place neither for the food nor the ambiance (we had to cut our dinner short because of the 1hr30min service which you might want to consider if you are reuniting with friends & don't want to be rushed!)
Decent mexican cuisine in a very cozy restaurant. The waiters are very helpful & friendly. The vibe is fun & the margaritas are on point. I recommend this place for a friends' outing.
Decided to try this as I am a fan of Mexican food. Sorry to say, what a disappointment this was. Had an entree of ribs. Sauce was delicious but the meat was disgusting. So fatty. Some quality control is needed on the meat you receive from your supplier.
The tacos again were good in taste but these were the size of my palms. $11 for 2 of them & no sides? I could easily eat 10 of these.
Sooooo.......I paid for my little dish & my gf (almost $70 with tip) & then I went down the street to 3 Amigos & had a decent meal for $40. I had a FULL meal there after I ate at Escondite just so you can understand what you are getting for your $$. I feel this is more a drinking hole with sides than a meal place. Would have been okay for me maybe 40 years ago lol

We had a craving for Mexican food & Escondite didn't disappoint! This was a busy spot at 6:30 on a Friday night. We highly recommend making a reservation, we didn't, as a result we were seated at the bar, which since it was just two of us worked out great anyway. The bar staff were attentive & helpful describing the menu. For a starter I ordered the Margarita Media Noche, which came in a glass rimmed with cinnamon & salt perfectly complementing the citrusy cocktail. For an appetizer we chose the Atun Tostados & then for the main course we shared a platter containing a selection of Tinga Tostados, Al Pastor Tacos, Baja 2.0 Tacos & E' Steak Koreano & Nopal Tacos. Everyone of them were excellent!
