My second time here, stopped for lunch this time & got a great lunch plate combo with 2 veggy tacos, chips, guac & a churro! Great deal! At dinner it can get a little loud though
Came here with my girl & we got cocktails, an appetizer & two types of tacos.
Our appetizer was good we had the fried calamari nothing special but good.
Atmosphere was nice music was good, you can see the inside of the kitchen sitting down which is not smth I personally liked, a curtain or smth would be nice.
My girls cocktail was nice & strong mine too but my margarita came in a small mug that was weird didnt think margarita glasses were hard to get for a restaurant?
Ok so the food, my tacos were sadly cold. Not sure if they’re supposed to be but don’t think so, tasty, but cold. My girl got the birria tacos & they were amazing, hence the 3 stars, hot, had cheese & tasted great.

We had a great meal at El Gordo. Our server was amazing. We were visitors to Montreal, so we asked her for some sightseeing tips. She even texted a friend to see if they also had some ideas for us!
We really enjoyed our evening at El Gordo! The food was wonderful (we all ordered & shared different tacos!) & the pitcher of Margaritas was delicious - but a little light on tequila! Still, we would recommend El Gordo.
Great food. Service is okay - the personnel is friendly but there’s a shortage of people as the place was crowded. One tiny toilet that was occupied all the time. The music is too loud - if you want to talk, choose the outdoor tables.
Salle extrêmement bruyante. Aucune générosité dans les plats, les portions sont très petites & le goût n’a rien de surprenant. Pour un plat de tacos à 17 dollars, j’espérais avoir un accompagnement avec les tacos, mais hélas… rien… seulement une sauce. Le seul point positif est que les employés sont super.
Very good fish tacos . Im from Nayarit , Mexico & it been really hard to find good fish tacos . I’m very judgy about my Torillas & there good here & the fish is of good quality. The Drink are very good here too!
Ce restaurant détient maintenant la triste distinction de m’avoir servi les pires Tacos que j’ai mangé de ma vie. Super super super sec. Même mon ami, qui a commandé un autre type de tacos, c’était super sec & pas goûteux. En aucun cas, ces plats auraient du sortir de la cuisine.
Le service était bien, considérant que la serveuse était seule.
After 4 years out of Canada, it was great to return to one of my favourite restaurants. The food, as always, rocked, the service was outstanding - Eleanor served us in English, French & Spanish - & the house bought us all shots of tequila - I've always loved the food & vibe of this place, & it hasn't changed at all in the four years since I've been gone!

I first tried these at Osheaga & really liked them so I decided to have them again at the restaurant itself. I couldn’t order the taco I had at the festival unfortunately(only available on a certain day) but the shrimp tacos I got were very tasty! I don’t usually enjoy any type of mayonnaise sauce in my food but it all blended well together. I enjoyed it
the margarita was perfect though it was served to me in a mug like that was weird i want to be holding a cup bigger than my face but still so good. the arrachera tacos were so good like omg but just 2 tacos didn't feel like enough. the music was perfect too i felt like i was at my tios place. thank you!
