East Pan-Asian Restaurant serves cuisine in a modern and eclectic decor reminiscent in some details of the effervescent days of old Shanghai.
Born from a very personal approach by owner restaurateurs, the concept of the East was developed with the intention of introducing customers to favorite dishes. Each dish on the menu is distinguished by its flavor and history depending on its country of origin. All lovers of Asian cuisine will be happy to remember them or simply discover them for the first time.
The East is also the perfect place to gather with friends and work colleagues after a busy day to enjoy a cocktail menu that invites travel. Developed by Lawrence Picard, the menu offers classics and creations with an “Old Shanghai” touch.
Also being the restaurant of the Renaissance Montreal Hotel, the East offers hearty breakfasts (traditional and a selection of Dim Sum) every day of the week.
Let us know about your special occasion and it will be our pleasure to accommodate you according to your tastes and needs. You can count on us as much for the creation of personalized menus as for the ambiance or the excellence of the service! Your special event is in good hands.
East Pan Asiatique offers a diverse Thai, Chinese and Japanese menu with fresh, well presented dishes and generous portions, from wakame cucumber salad to dumplings and poke bowls, with vegan options that many guests appreciate. The ambiance is calm and inviting, a chic yet relaxed vibe that suits a casual night out. Service is frequently praised for friendliness, attentiveness, and helpful recommendations, though a few guests mention slower moments or occasional dish inconsistencies. Overall, the combination of flavorful food, thoughtful presentation, and welcoming atmosphere makes East Pan Asiatique a place many would return to.
Wonderful food & drinks with an inviting atmosphere. The bartenders are friendly, knowledgeable, & full of great recommendations. Felix was fantastic & even helped me with my French. Can't wait to come back!

Unique the waiter was great! Knowledge, kind & a great bartender.
I got dumplings & duck curry & it was very delicious. The curry is spicy so keep that in mind.
Price was OK & I will definitely be back!

Had an amazing breakfast experience at East Pan Asiatique Cuisine & Bar! I had the pleasure of being served by Zawad & everything was fresh, delicious, & beautifully presented. Zawad provided excellent service, super friendly, attentive, & made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm & inviting, & I'll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend for a great start to your day!
Had lunch at East Pan Asiatique Cuisine & Bar & really enjoyed it. The Fillet Mignion & Schezuan Chicken were amazing & i definitely recommended them. The vibe is chill but classy which is perfect for a relaxed night out.
Special shoutout to Zawad, our waiter who was super friendly, helpful, & made us feel right at home. Thanks for the great service!
I ordered drunken noodles & requested some of the hot oil on side. When that wasn't an option (for some reason), I asked if they could add a little heat to the dish in the kitchen. I'm guessing that this pissed off the cook or the bar tender taking my order because when my meal came out it wasn't a little hot, it was dangerously hot. There is no way that the amount of spice added could have been a mistake in the preparation of the dish. The food was purposely made into something extremely painful to eat & I like spicy food & eat it routinely. I forced it down because it was getting late & I was starving. Now I'm paying the price & have time to right this review sitting down. While the flavor was good I wouldn't recommend any special requests to your order at this restaurant as someone apparently doesn't like them & may find a way to take it out on the patron.
Food is amazing. We tried the gyoza, fried tofu & crispy chicken for appetizers; the last 2 looked like soft tacos. These were very good, my favorite were the gyozas. For Main dishes we the Szechuan chicken & the general Taos chicken; an excellent selection; the latter was a bit sweeter but crispy with amazing crispy bok choy. The cocktails were absolutely to die for. My husband had the cherry blossom (bourbon) which he absolutely loved. They didn't have a cocktail with vodka which is my preferred alcohol but the bartender custom made the ginger/mezcal drink with it, & I couldn't have enough. It delicious!! 😍 The vibe was calm/chill when we visited & that worked for us.
I went there with colleagues for our Christmas dinner. The atmosphere was great because we could talk with each other (not noisy). There is variety in the dish menu, Japanese, korean etc.. Some of the dishes might be too spicy for some. You might asked not to add a lot of spices in your dish if you don't like them. It did not bother me I found it really tasty. I took the Korean barbecue. The only negativity was that it took a long time to be served eventhough the restaurant was not really full.
Don't bother without a reservation, they will seat you like an inconvenience. Took my mother there in light of MTL à Table on a Tuesday night around 18:30, we were given the "table" right by the entrance screen that only had one sad run-down chair before the waiter who saw us went to get another from a busy table, after clumsily trying to cobble the two tables pictured together as if it would make for a proper set. There were 2 vacant two seat tables by the window panes before the bar, but allegedly they will be occupied within the hour & he "didn't want to inconvenience us moving us mid-meal". It took my asking for the waiter to inform us of this & move us to the bar seats that had much better lighting & atmosphere, which also had more than enough space to accommodate us when we first arrived. Those empty tables I saw when we first stepped in remained vacant through most of our stay there, only by the time we were finishing our desserts a bit before 8 did I finally see them both occupied. Food was okay, my mother seemed to have liked it enough. We had to ask for water refill three times, at least it was easy to do so by the bar. I can't imagine how much worse it would have been if we stayed swept away forgotten in the corner right behind the entrance screen. Overpriced fare was expected especially as I'm aware MTL à Table is also a tourist event, but after this experience & knowing the large amount of Asian options in Downtown Montreal as a local, I can easily live without ever coming back again outside of this event.

East Pan Asiatique Cuisine & Bar is inside Renaissance hotel, we ate our breakfast every morning here. (The lobster Benedict is really good, remember to check it out.) The food here is very good. I had a Chirashi Don, the sashimi is super delicious. Cocktail is superb. & I love the service here very much. Highly recommend it.
