Dic Ann's Hamburgers Terrebonne/Lachenaie Restaurant: Menu, Reviews & Reserve (2026)
BurgersPoutineComfort Food
Dominic “Dick” Potenza was born in West Virginia and grew up in Utica, New York. He became well known in the Rochester - Buffalo area during the 40’s as a head-waiter in the supper-club type restaurants of the era. It was at one of these supper-clubs that he met his future wife, jazz accordionist Ann Collecchia, who performed using the stage name of Ann Russell. Together, they envisioned a fast food restaurant that would serve an original style hamburger with their own special sauce. After much thought, this original style hamburger took the form of a toasted bun containing a thin patty that would cook quickly. After they modified and combined two recipes that they brought with them from Rochester, Dick and Ann developed their famous hot sauce.

Review Summary

Dic Ann's Hamburgers is described as a long-standing classic with tasty burgers, a mildly spicy house sauce, and fries praised as among the best. The staff are repeatedly praised for friendliness, and the atmosphere is noted for not being loud and for using reusable plates. Guests appreciate being allowed to order near closing time and to dine on site during cleanup without feeling rushed. Gluten-free options are mentioned with chicken fillets, and one burger is highlighted as unusually unique, served with sauce pooling around the meat and a popsicle stick as the only utensil, reflecting a quirky touch and the lack of a drive-thru. An old-timey Quebec vibe is cited, though the ambiance is sometimes described as not renovated and with a strong cleaner smell. While overall sentiment favors the food and service, criticisms include a very small burger that seems overpriced and bland, a poutine that disappoints, and a sense that value can be uneven and the atmosphere may not suit everyone.

Burger excellent, poutine par exemple décevante, mais le pire c'est l'ambiance, il n'y a rien de rénové & ça sens très fort le produit nettoyant.
