Dominic «Dick» Potenza est né en Virginie et a grandi à Utica dans l'état de New York. Il s'est fait connaître dans la région de Rochester - Buffalo pendant les années 40 en tant que serveur dans un restaurant de haute gastronomie. C'est là qu'il a rencontré sa future femme, Ann Collecchia, originaire de NDG. Accordéoniste de jazz qui travaillait sous le nom d'artiste de Ann Russel. Ensemble, ils ont envisagé l'ouverture d'un restaurant «Fast food» qui offrait aux clients, un hamburger d'un style très original avec leur propre sauce épicée.
Dic Ann's Hamburgers est perçu comme une halte rapide pour un burger, un hot dog ou des frites, avec des burgers toujours frais et une sauce signature qui apporte une touche distincte; certains apprécient le caractère unique et l'authenticité du lieu, tandis que d'autres trouvent le burger fin et parfois cher par rapport à la portion, surtout pour les amuse-bouches; pour ceux qui n'ont pas envie de boeuf et s'orientent vers le burger au poulet, il faut demander si la sauce viande est ajoutée car elle est souvent servie; les garnitures du burger au poulet peuvent être incohérentes selon le service; le service est généralement rapide et courtois et l'établissement est très propre, même en période de rush, et l'ambiance rappelle un bistrot nostalgique; la sauce signature est souvent saluée et pas trop épicée pour les enfants; la poutine est fréquemment citée comme le point faible, mais reste savoureuse; dans l'ensemble, les visiteurs reviennent pour la viande et les burgers originaux, et l'expérience est décrite comme authentique et de qualité au fil du temps, faisant de Dic Ann's un incontournable du fast-food québécois à Montréal.
It's a nice little spot for a quick burger, hot dog, or fry. Not everyone will like the style of burger but we enjoy it. The one critique is that the chicken burger (chick-Ann) toppings are inconsistent. If you do not eat beef & are looking toward the chicken burger for an alternative, be sure to ask if they put their meat sauce on it. Often times they do. Always fresh burgers & fries!
Way tooo expensive for individual appetizers.i know the name is supposed to be impressive but really 2 bite burgers at 6$ with a meat patty thinner that 3 sheet of paper.
The staff was friendly,we spent 100$ 3 people...it's the least I was expecting
I ate for 30$ & as I was throwing out the containers of what I ate,I said damn im still hungry

Been meaning to try out this place because of the very interesting looking burgers.
Meat tasted fresh, topping fresh & the bun was surprisingly great. It truly tasted homemade & this is my new craving spot every time I come to Montreal.

First time trying Dic Ann's & I am pleasantly surprised ! Don't be scared by the flat burger & the sauce. It's like a burger de birria! The staff is also very friendly & we had a good chat!
Didn't want the burger to be sloppy so asked that the sauce be on the side. Didn't realize they would charge me $0.90 for the little paper cup.
$3.35 for the 591ml bottle drink is more expensive than a vending machine.
Overall the food is ok but not worth the price & wait. My two cents.
Also note for English speaking visitors, the service folks at the front didn't give a welcome feeling if you know what I mean.

We visited Dic Ann's Hamburgers (Marché Central) on Family Day & despite how busy it was, the staff did a fantastic job serving us efficiently & with a smile. The burgers here are truly unique thin, crispy, & packed with flavor. The signature sauce adds the perfect tangy, slightly spicy kick that makes them stand out.
Even with the rush, our food was served quickly, & the staff remained friendly & attentive. The nostalgic diner vibe adds to the charm, making it a great spot for a casual meal. Prices are reasonable, & the experience was well worth it.
If you're in the area & looking for a classic, no-frills burger spot, Dic Ann's is a must-visit! Highly recommended!
I knew something was up when I was asked repeatedly if this was my first time there. Then the aggressive woman at the front started arguing with a co worker in front of me. They got my order completely wrong & when it came it was literally 30 seconds from when i ordered? That's too fast even for fast food. I got home & ate what was a sloppy mess. I asked twice if the onions were raw. I was told yes. The onions were cooked. I had to peel the burger off the plate (see photo) . With so many great burger choices in Montreal why go here?
