Diablos BBQ Smokehouse is frequently praised for its delicious smoked meats, with many visitors highlighting the brisket, ribs, and flavorful BBQ sauce as standout items. The restaurant is widely recognized for its vibrant, rustic atmosphere and consistently friendly service, with many guests specifically noting the attentive and welcoming nature of the staff. While portion sizes are often described as generous and the value for the quality is frequently highlighted, the dining experience is rounded out by an impressive selection of cocktails and drinks, making it a popular choice for both casual dinners and group celebrations.
Great service & atmosphere. Food was also nice, but the burger gets a little repetitive at some point in my opinion. The cornbread loaf was great along with the chicken & the fries. I thought the coleslaw was a little bit too sour for my taste. Overall a great experience.
Great smokehouse. We ordered the platter for four. The brisket, beef ribs & sausages were really good. We didn't really like the pulled pork. The gravy was so good, there was an enormous amount of fries. Beat coleslaw I ever had.
Food & drinks were fine not exceptional. Service was very slow ,staff was courteous but non attentive. Atmosphere is pretty average. I may not visit again.
on est aller ce soir pour souper 19h , grand manque de serveur & serveuse.
ensuite après 1h30 on a reçu nos cotes levee, ils étaient sec & trop cuits.
to the owner:
Thank you for taking the time to reply. However, a few points in your response need to be addressed.
First, whether you call them back ribs, spare ribs, or any other cut of pork, the basic standard of a good rib is moisture & tenderness. When meat has no juice left in it & is tough to chew, that is what paying guests call dry & overcooked. While I respect that taste can be subjective & that this is one of your top sellers, the specific rack served to our table was simply overcooked, regardless of how well the rest of the batch turned out for other tables that night.
Second, as for the service, waiting 90 minutes for food inevitably creates a poor experience on the dining room floor. Your staff were doing their absolute best under obvious pressure & served us as well as they possibly could. Trying to dismiss a 90-minute wait as merely a'busy dining room' rather than acknowledging an operational bottleneck is unfair to your guests-& frankly, it is unfair to your employees who are left on the front line dealing with empty tables & frustrated customers when the system breaks down.
I left honest feedback so you would know where the kitchen execution & wait times failed for our table that evening. I hope you can take it constructively rather than deflecting it, so your hard-working staff aren't put in that position in the future.
I was looking for a good southern style BBQ joint, However, at Diablos everything was dry: the beef brisket, the fried chicken, the cornbread. The worst detail, the pudding chomeur, should be a light cake swimming in syrup in the bottom. Instead they used the dry cornbread & they added some dry sugar on top.
The only redeemable point was the huge selection of bourbons. So if you are a bourbon fan you can go enjoy a drink with coleslaw, the only thing that isn't dry on the menu.
This is my second time coming here. The first time, I had the pork sliders & ribs, & they were really, really good, so I was excited to come back.
This time, I came for the all-you-can-eat chicken wings, & unfortunately, I almost threw up. 😭 I could barely finish my two baskets. I expected the wings to be covered in spices & sauces, but they were barely seasoned at all, not even salt & pepper. The sauce came on the side, which was also disappointing.
The wings genuinely did not taste fresh. & were dry. They had this weird taste that made me feel like they were something the kitchen needed to get rid of before they went bad. They were also extremely oily, to the point where they actually made me nauseous.
That being said, the service was absolutely amazing. The server was so kind & attentive, & honestly, I felt too shy to tell her that I wasn't enjoying the food because she was so lovely. So, 10/10 for the service, but unfortunately a 2/10 for the wings.
I know my first experience here was great, which is why this visit was not the best for me. I'll only come back for the ribs though.
