Used to be a fan when it was only Smoked Meat Pete's brother that owned it but the quality has definitely gone down hill since. Recently my husband & I decided to give it a try again as some people on reddit were talking about how the prices were better than Smoked Meat Pete's & the food was better as well. Sadly, they weren't right. The price is on par with Smoked Meat Pete's & the sandwich wasn't fantastic. The smoked meat itself isn't the traditional meat, it reminds me more of a roast beef sandwich, especially with how thin he shaved the meat. It was slightly on the bland side & the meat itself didn't have that typical texture either. All I am going to say is I am glad I only bought one sandwich to try & nothing else, take that however you want.Voir plus

We got a takeout smoke meat sandwich here. Medium. The meat flavor is quite different compared to Schwartz's or Lester's -in a good way imo. It's not over seasoned. You can actually taste a hint of beef & feel a little of it's texture. Great smoked meat imo. The bread wasn't super fresh on a Friday evening.Voir plus

We were a (party of four this time) & all of us were really satisfied with the smoked meat sandwiches. The meat was tender & not salty, with the perfect amount of spices. The fries are cut on the premises & are just like mother use to make. Staff is pleasant & smiling. Very cozy decor. Plenty of free parking.Voir plus

We did take out. Smoked meat is very good here. Great flavour. It's a very small restaurant in an older building so that's why I took off a star for atmosphere but service & food was great.Voir plus

I love this place. The smoked meat is, in my opinion, some of the best in the city. I get the medium fat sandwich & I always love it. I like the decor in the restaurant & the seats are super comfortable.Voir plus

REAL smoked meat - what a pleasure! Fries are great too! The only reason I didn't give the service 5 stars: You have to go to the counter to order & pay, but otherwise it's fine.

Awesome smoked meat, the real deal not that pumped up factory wet salty nonsense the rest of the city serves. There's Delibees & then there's everyone else lagging far behind.

Over the years I have dined in & have used the take out opportunity.
Staff friendly, however I find them stand offish. Nice to watch the open kitchen in motion. The food is consistently good. Lots of parking, not really a family restaurant, plan on take out. I must say though the eating area is quite nice. I'll return seasonally for their smoke meat specials.
