Food was semi good ,waitress served us & even though it was not busy she didn't even come 1 time to ask if everything was OK, no second coffee offered ,& there were millions fruit flies around our food & face ,I asked to be seated in front of restaurant we were 6 people waitress refused to put the 2 tables together in front but put us all the way in back ,will not return again !
The food is almost always good & I originally rated this place 5 stars my latest visit left me a little unsatisfied.
13 Sept 2025 - We come in around 7h05 on a saturday morning, the place is pretty much empty as one would be at this hour. The lady said to sit where we want so I head to my usual spot up to podium or whatever it's called & she says no, not up there. Down here. I'm like,'why?' I always go up there? (maybe not ever at 7h05 but usualy around 8h ish?) She say's something like you have to pick something down there. I ask her why & I think she said she's not going up there so pick something down here. My response was ya, probably the last time. (please don't quote me on this, I don't remember the exact words)
We sit down, I go to the bathroom to wash my hands, I get there & there's a garbage can holding the door. That's always nice!
I go back to my seat, she comes by when my GF clearly has the tablet in hand, I tell her right away to come back. She comes back later, we order, my GF asks for something specific, she says ok.
She comes with the plates & ignored her request completly. My GF tells her nicely, she takes it back & bring it back correctly. I don't like coffee that much so I never ask for any. I just want water but my GF had coffee & the lady came to fill it up maybe 3 or 4 times at least, never once offered more water to me with my glass empty since the beginning. I asked my GF if I could drink hers & she said yes.
She came back with the check, probably saw the two glasses on my side empty & said nothing or maybe didn't even notice as a bad waitress would. I still tipped her 15% which I won't do next time, but at the same time, I don't think there will be a next time.
I drove 30 minutes to go there, my GF drove 60 minutes. Don't think there arent any other places we can go. It's just a matter of time before you close just like the other one if you continue on this lazy path!
I mean look at your sign outside, barely visible just like your plates since COVID. I use to get a mega plate for 17 now I get 2 items with bad service & no water every time. Usualy, when I go, the waitress ask me if I want more water when my plate is empty & all I want is the check.
I have visited this place a few times & generally enjoyed it. However, during my most recent visit, the experience was not as positive. The waitress who served me seemed a bit disoriented. I had ordered toast, which unfortunately never arrived, & there was no check-in to see if everything was satisfactory. Additionally, I didn't receive a coffee refill. eventually a different waitress took care of the toast, but by then, my meal was already halfway finished & cold, which diminished the experience. When I left, I paid with cash on the table. However, the waitress followed me to ask if I had paid her colleague, which left me feeling a little uncomfortable. I hope this was just an off day, as my previous visits have been more enjoyable.
Generous food portions & delicious on top. Service was lacking since the restaurant was packed, missing coffee for some guests. I'd come back on a day that is less busy.
This place is my absolute favorite in Montreal/Laval. I've been coming here for years, & every visit has been exceptional. The only downside is that on Sunday or Saturday mornings, there might be a line, but it moves quickly. The food is consistently delicious with a vast menu offering everything from sweet to savory, healthy to indulgent. The portions are generous, & the prices are very reasonable; I typically spend around $20 for a satisfying breakfast that keeps me full until lunch. Filtered coffee is included in the price, but there are also options for lattes, espressos, smoothies, & more. The servers are consistently polite & friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The cozy environment with comfortable booths makes it easy to enjoy conversations with friends or family, even when it's busy. Personally, I preferred it when they served syrup in bottles rather than little packets, but that's just a minor preference. If you're considering visiting, don't hesitate- you won't regret it!
