Review Summary

Déjeuner Cosmopolitain comes through in these reviews as a dependable breakfast spot with generous portions, fresh ingredients, and a welcoming, unpretentious atmosphere that feels old-school and family-friendly. Dishes like eggs, pancakes, bacon, and Benedicts are described as flavorful and consistently well prepared, and the service is attentive and courteous, with guests noting quick, friendly help on busy mornings though weekend crowds can bring longer waits. The setting is clean, cozy, and kid friendly, and prices are generally reasonable for the portions offered, making it a reliable choice for both regulars and first timers. Reviewers emphasize the place's sustained quality over years and the warm feel that keeps people returning, while a few mentions of occasional slow service or price considerations show a balanced picture of a popular morning hub.

My family has been eating here 3 to 4 times per year for most of the past 25 years. It is consistently very good food for reasonable price. They are always busy on weekends so sometimes there is a bit of a wait, but well worth it. Eggs, pancakes, potatoes & all your favorites done just right & in generous portions. Not fancy, not chic, just damn good.

We were seated pretty quickly, didnt need to wait much. Although the service was a disaster! The waitress seemed to be in a rush, brings the water & drops some without apologizing or offering napkins. Waited very long (a good 15 min if not more) just to order. We asked for crayons for the kids to draw & said there wasn't any available, 2 min later I asked another employee & gave us right away.
She brought us the wrong bill, luckily we checked before paying. Then we had to go front to pay because she couldn't modify the bill. On top of that she was cursing & telling us everytime she would see new customers seated she wasn't happy because they were short on staff & that it was a busy day!
I understand the shortness of staff is not her fault but she shouldn't have been acting like this in front of clients .
Luckily was amazing!

Generous food portions & delicious on top. Service was lacking since the restaurant was packed, missing coffee for some guests. I'd come back on a day that is less busy.

This place is my absolute favorite in Montreal/Laval. I've been coming here for years, & every visit has been exceptional. The only downside is that on Sunday or Saturday mornings, there might be a line, but it moves quickly. The food is consistently delicious with a vast menu offering everything from sweet to savory, healthy to indulgent. The portions are generous, & the prices are very reasonable; I typically spend around $20 for a satisfying breakfast that keeps me full until lunch. Filtered coffee is included in the price, but there are also options for lattes, espressos, smoothies, & more. The servers are consistently polite & friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The cozy environment with comfortable booths makes it easy to enjoy conversations with friends or family, even when it's busy. Personally, I preferred it when they served syrup in bottles rather than little packets, but that's just a minor preference. If you're considering visiting, don't hesitate- you won't regret it!
