This restaurant has generally been reliable in the past, but our recent experience was quite disappointing due to poor order management.
We placed a large order for 10 people over the phone at 6:00 PM & arrived for pickup at 7:45 PM. Upon arrival, we were initially handed someone else's order. Fortunately, we checked before leaving. At that point, the staff realized that our order had not been prepared at all, despite the advance notice. We were asked to wait another 15 minutes & to repeat the order, but ultimately waited close to 30 minutes.
Unfortunately, the issues didn't end there. When we got home, we discovered that one item-a vegetable curry (Paneer Tikka Masala)-was missing. When we called back, we were told it hadn't been noted. Additionally, because the food was prepared in a rush, the veg biryani was essentially fried rice with paneer & did not meet the usual quality or standard.
This created an extremely uncomfortable & embarrassing situation, especially since we had guests waiting for dinner. Delays, missing items, & compromised quality significantly impacted the experience.
I hope the management takes this feedback seriously & improves order handling & verification, especially for large or advance orders. I strongly recommend that customers check their orders carefully before leaving the restaurant.
Food was very good however, we received 1 wrong item instead of the one we had ordered. Always verify with the cashier that you getting what you ordered when picking up your food. We were looking forward to trying the butter chicken, unfortunately, that item was missing.

We decided to give Dawat a try, & oh my lanta why haven't we ordered here before? Probably the best Indian we ever had ! Quality & price unbeatable! Can't wait to order again 🙃!
Highly recommend Dawat you cannot go wrong with perfectly seasoned lamb curry biryani spicy & finger licking good chicken sheik kababs. Good cooking at fair prices. Can't wait till my next craving.

Had one of the best meals I've ever had in Canada! I was driving from Toronto to Montreal & randomly searched for food on the way - that's how I found Dawat. What a gem! The flavors are absolutely authentic Punjabi cuisine, rich & homestyle, exactly what you'd hope for.
The restaurant is located in Kirkland, just about 30 minutes from Montreal, which makes it an absolutely great stop whether you're going towards Montreal or heading back to Toronto.
The Punjabi food here is absolutely delicious-rich flavors, perfectly balanced spices, & portions that feel truly homely. Every dish tasted fresh & authentic, just like a proper home-cooked meal. The service was warm, attentive, & made the experience even better. A must-visit spot if you're craving real Punjabi hospitality & cuisine!

Manager delivered the missing item to my address. But that girl really needs training.
Its the first time I ordered from this place & I must say, the portion & quality of food is top notch. Everything was delicious & freshly made. Less options but mouth watery.
Their food is always freshly made, they welcome you with a big smile on face, super welcoming & the best part food is amazing & shows that they prepared with love.
Whenever I am around even if i have to take a detour to grab their food i do, totally worth it.
My personal favourite- Fish Pakoras, veg pakoras, tandoori chicken & fresh Lassi !
