Review Summary

Daou offers homestyle Lebanese cuisine with a family style vibe and a long standing presence in the area. The menu includes favorites such as fattoush, hummus, babaganoush, warm vine leaves filled with meat and rice, and a chicken filet mignon plate with fries and rice. The food is described as flavorful and fresh with dishes made to order and many reviews calling it a reliable option for family dinners. Some diners note that portions may be small for the price and the pricing itself can be high. The atmosphere is seen as cozy but dated and could use an upgrade, and service is variable from good to only okay. The location in St Laurent offers convenient parking and a convenient setting. Overall Daou is regarded as a solid and dependable Lebanese option in Montreal with a focus on fresh flavors and consistency.

I tremendously enjoyed my meal & dessert. I have not been to this restaurant in over 15 years, & finding it was still opened, I could not be happier. Please keep it up Restaurant Daou I'll be back ❤️❤️❤️

Daou offers top of the line Lebanese food. You can’t go wrong, the whole menu is delicious. Their meat melts in you mouth like a butter cookie (pause).

When there’s private parties the parking gets pretty full, so just park next door in the strip mall; next to Tim Hortons.

We went there at 5PM with a 2-year old & a 4-year old. We went there early on purpose because we had young kids. Our kids started running around the table. There were only about 6 tables occupied by guests, yet the manager thought that she should intervene, so she came & told us to keep our kids quiet! They had been running for literally not even 20 seconds! I kid you not! If you have kids &/or like kids, do not go there! Trust me, if the kids had run for more than a minute, we would have told them to stop. Shame on Restaurant Daou!

I respect the fact that they have been existing for 20 years but they need to pick it up a notch. They consider themselves a great restaurant but they should act like one. For example, offering "Mouton Cadet" as wine is very passé. I had 2 large lemon chicken breasts served only with a mountain of fried rice in a very small plate, nothing else. Presentation & elegance was to be desired. The rice was falling off the sides! My wife had the small "fish du jour" with fries ($29 + tax) & to drink, I had a soft drink served in a can... Service was good...considering there was only 3 couples in a large illuminated restaurant on a Thursday night. To end it all, the waiter did not bring me the bill, told me to go to the cashier counter in order to pay. Much too pricey to appreciate. Probably good for Groups that like average food. Not good for romantic ambiance. I will not go back. Feb 2015.

I have been a regular at this restaurant for many years. I am vegan & they have a large selection available for vegans. I recommend the yaprak vine leaves (vegetable), fattoush, tabbouleh, vegetable kebbe, hummus tahini, loubieh, & the Hendbeh. The food is fresh & the service is always very friendly & efficient..this is why it continues to be one of my favourites.
