A nostalgic neighborhood restaurant in Westmount. Such a great location.
After being out of the area for so long? I wanted to expose my now young adult daughter to what I experienced at her age.
Montreal being a hub for great food & exposure to great chefs, it is a shame that Copoli has not maintained their passion of serving their signature Copoli burger with pride.
The chef does the service the cooking, which can be a nice touch for a small resto, however,
the beef patty was so much smaller the their homemade bread & was rubbery like a Havaianas flip flop. As the chef came to get our food he asked me if everything was Okay since I didnt eat the food. With polite disappointment I expressed that it was not what I had decades ago & that it was not edible. He took offence & his ego took over & he expressed as he walked away that he makes over 60 burgers a day & its the same as it has always been....Gordon Ramsey would have a field day with this scenario. Being in the restaurant business for many years it's important to say that customers are not always right, but customers are who pay & make your business grow.
Don't be fooled by their motto of'The biggest & most delicious burger in Montreal'. There are so many other burger places in Montreal that will give you an experience, quality food for the price & great service. So unfortunate for the experience but thank you for showing my daughter that sometimes doing the same thing every day for decades does not make it great unless, you do it with INTEGRITY.
Best wishes
Copoli is a true Montréal institution that's been doing its own thing forever. Thin but flavorful patties, standout homemade bread, & classic toppings done right. Not fancy, but consistently satisfying, nostalgic, & the kind of easy, no-fuss spot you find yourself coming back to again & again.
As someone who use to eat here a lot & loved the burger, was so disappointed to go back. Burger is more expensive, half the size, meat is thinner & barely any toppings. It was mostly bread. Inflation is hitting everyone, I get it. But you still have to give your customers something for the expensive price tag. Won't be going back unfortunately.
Also.. someone there ordered a salad with tuna or salmon in it? The cook was using his bare finger to scoop it out of the can directly to the salad. Was pretty gross. 🤢
The burger, its homemade bread & wow fries were fresh & delicious. The burgers have a unique style! A friendly & genuinely kind gentleman serves everything with a smile, you feel right at home. I love the vibe there. Highly recommended!
I have tried this restaurant twice. The owner is a great & friendly man.
The menu is rich with diverse options for breakfast, brunch, & dinner. I ordered the cheeseburger Copoli both times & really love their bread. The burger isn't very thick, but it tastes good.
I always choose the salad instead of fries, & the dressing is very special.
Overall, if you're in the Westmount area & craving something fast but tasty, I recommend trying this restaurant.
The only downside is that since the kitchen is open to the dining area, your clothes might smell oily.
New to the neighborhood & they treated us like queens! So kind & home spun! Yummy crazy bread!
$21.74 before tip, fries, burger, & Coke. He said it was the special, but it wasn't really on special. It was just a regular price a bit confusing The bread was good. The burger was a quarter inch thick kind of sad. I will take Burger De ville any day.
