I was very intrigued when I first heard about this place because it had opened up on the same block as Tacos Frida & is a direct competitor to them.
Although Cinco de Mayo is not as large, it offers a great menu with selections for both vegetarian & meat eaters.
The chips were served beautifully, arranged in a multi-pointed star with a generous amount of guac.
The tacos you get are filled to the brim & I think the serving size is larger than at tacos frida. I enjoyed what I had, but prefer bean tacos more. If you like cactus, this is the place for you.
The meat tacos thoroughly impressed my friend.
All in all, this restaurant is a fantastic addition to Montréal's limited Mexican scene & the service you receive here is very homey.
Telling that is a great Mexican Restaurant would be true, but this is not just that, this a traditional Mexican place, not because of the space, but the food.
Tradicional, delicious, fresh & is super adorable, like some packages that includes 3 tacos & a soup for less than $14... You got a deal!
Excellent Mexican food. Very tasty & juicy. All the tacos have crema on them, so if you're like me ask for'sin crema' .

La comida no tiene el sabor mexicano, sin embargo el servicio es muy bueno, el café de olla y la horchata son ricos. Lo demás es comida tex mex que no es lo mismo que comida mexicana, no regresaría a comer ahí.
The best Mexican place in Montréal 🫶🏼 i love everything here, but the best are Las Enmoladas for brunch ♥? & please if you come, try churros 🤤🤤 are fresh & the best in town 🥰🫰🏼
You feel like you're in Mexico. The friendly greeting when you arrive. The great food. The music. The cool Latinos who eat here. It's like the Schwartz of Mexican food, but it's much warmer & with respect.
I ordered some tacos for delivery & they were aight - nothing special. I returned for an in-person visit much later, had a far better experience with the delicious breakfast burrito. Small restaurant with limited seating. Service was good. Menu selection a bit smaller than other Mexican restaurants.
Best horchata ever!! Little hole in the wall with the best Mexican food ever. Order anything & it will be absolutely delicious.
Authentic & unpretentious This is a great local spot for Mexican food. They have all the best items, like chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, tacos, as well as some adapted to a more international public, at a very reasonable price. The place is small & can feel a bit run down, however in my opinion that is its charm! The workers are all Latin & the cashier (owner maybe?) is super nice & service is fast! It's filled with local Latin costumers, so it's definitely legit! They also have a little shop of Mexican goodies! On top of nice the neighborhood is very nice! Highly recommend the huevos rancheros, chilaquiles & hot chocolate. Definitely coming back! (My only complain would be that the sauces are lacking spice, but they do give you some suave & the side)
Un verdadero rinconcito de México en Montreal. El tamano del local y la amigable atención de todo su personal lo hacen a uno sentirse en casa, sin mencionar los platillos típicos y ricos que cualquier mexicano extranamos y aquí podemos encontrar. Que mejor que unos buenos taquitos, una rica sopa de tortilla acompanada de agua de horchata y como postre un rico flan o una deliciosa concha. Una gran experiencia sin duda.
Mexican nice decoration, affordable prices, tasty & varied food, nice mexican music in the background. A little bigger spare would be more convenient.
We were tourists in Montreal looking for good Mexican food with great taste & we found it! The food was a taste of home & the staff was like family. Definitely recommend. The Tamarind water was 10/10, Nutella Churros were a great dessert that is made when ordered.
Best mexican food! Fresh & simple, super delicious. We ordered shrimp ceviche, Divorciados & nachos. My favourite place in St Henri metro station.
