God-sent moussaka & roast lamb...
Several friends recommended this place so we made sure to make a reservation as it isn't a big restaurant. Once we made our way inside, we were warmly greeted & asked if we had been to the restaurant before. None of us had so we were led to the kitchen counter showcase where Denis began to name all the off menu specials that were available along with the running count on any item that was close to being sold out in case we wanted to immediately hold something. Was a nice selection of specials & the descriptions were excellent & detailed. Our table was good but a bit tight due to several larger groups being there. Wasn't necessarily fun to have my seat bumped into several times throughout the night as waiters & patrons sneaked by. My wife shared a half litre of house white wine which was delicious. We ordered a serving of moussaka as an appetizer & split it was it was excellent. Potatoes were thinly sliced & perfectly cooked. Then I had the roast pork which was delicious & decadent with the crackling skin. My wife had the souvlaki chicken skewer & she said it was also delicious & juicy. For dessert, we shared the ekmek which is an angel hair & whipped cream, cinnamon dessert & it was very good. One of the owners was leaving & made sure to say her goodbyes to all the customers. Feels like you're part of the family. Excellent value & service with delicious home style Greek food that tastes exactly like Greece. Definitely recommended.
My husband's boss recommended Christina's Cuisine for authentic Greek's food. So glad we went. Highly suggest you make a reservation on weekends. Such a homey vibe. No pretentious food, just real good food. The grilled octopus is the best I had. Grilled calamari & moussaka were my kids favorite. My husband loved the lamb & potatoes. My first time trying kepasti & soooooooo delicious. Thank you for the great experience.
Went for takeout for lunch. They are quick. We ordered the chicken souvlaki pita & a moussaka. The pita bread was excellent & the sandwich was well dressed with just enough tzatziki but not so much that it was dripping & messy to eat. The flavor of the sandwich was well balanced but the souvlaki could have used a little more marinating but I am nit picking here. The moussaka was very good but a little bit on the oily side. Overall 2 good dishes & if I'm in the neighborhood I would return & try there other offerings.
I really should not be writing this, the last thing I would ever want is this place to become too busy for me to get my fix.
BUT ! they are so so nice & it is so so delicious I can't help myself.
Our family has been coming to Christina's Cuisine for close to 4 years now & we have never been disappointed.
It's a family run restaurant full of as much charme as you can squeeze into a Laval strip mall. Somehow, once you take your first bite, everything just disappears & all you can see are the photos of Greece on the wall come to life.
Best Moussaka, best roast pork ever.
There is the Menu, where you will find all the Greek restaurant staples... & then, there is the daily specials under glass at the counter / kitchen. Always a fresh fish (if you get there early), vegetables, bean dishes, Lamb, pork & more right there laid out in front of you.
On top of all that, the service is outstanding & convivial.
Please do not got there.
Moussaka was amazing & well priced.
Side however, was too expensive.
Exceptional Greek restaurant with amazing service & top quality ingredients! Try the moussaka, you will not regret it
We had a family dinner here, & we're impressed with the quality of the food. Kalamaraki was outstanding & the marinara sauce was excellent. Generous souvlaki sticks & great gyros. Moussaka was rich & perfectly baked.
Worth checking out if you are in Chomedey Laval!
We had been meaning to try this restaurant for quite some time. We finally had the opportunity last Saturday evening, we were a group of 6. Make sure to reserve as this place is always full, there are limited tables. From the minute we walked in, the atmosphere was warm & welcoming. We mentioned it was our first time, so we were shown the daily specials, they included roast pork, roast lamb, rabbit stew, veal, moussaka, ziti & stuffed peppers, all made fresh that morning. The roasted potatoes were also amazing. We tried almost all of the daily specials between us & we all left very full & with leftovers for lunch. The service was friendly & very helpful, we're definitely going to be back, & soon ! Thank you for a wonderful, authentic, Greek experience. Until next time :-)
Where to start? Walked in without a reservation, around 3pm.
Ordered the moussaka & the souvaki combo platter.
The moussaka was delicious & smooth. The souvlaki was cooked to perfection, you can taste the charcoal & the authentic flavours of greece. The baked potato however, takes the gold medal. I can't remember the last time i ate potatoes this good. Slightly citrusy & soft that it melts in your mouth.
If you are looking for authentic greek food in Laval, this is the place to be.
Incredible experience where Christina boarded us to Tessaloniki with her succulent Moussaka. It had everything in it, tasty potatoes, juicy eggplants, great cheese. & what about the cheese? The feta is also tasty, the salad is also extraordinary. Thank you for those souvlakis, & for this great foot.
Christina's has amazing, authentic Greek food. I was always reluctant to try the most famous Greek dishes (moussaka & pastitsio), but they turned out to be incredible, with so much flavor. 100% coming back for my favourite plate which was the moussaka. I also had the lemon potatoes, which were a bit too salty, but overall, good.
Everything is quite delicious & has an extra home made feel to it. Similar to your yaya making food at home for you to enjoy. Service is friendly & authentic. Go to dishes are the roast with the roasted potatoes & the moussaka. But honestly everything is good.
If we could give a higher rating we would! We were visiting Canada & were looking for a restaurant for a family celebration. Christina's Cuisine had an excellent rating so we made our reservation. We, along with our family, were quite impressed. Christina's exceeded our expectations on all fronts. The food, drinks & service were exceptional! Dora & Steve made excellent recommendations & the entire staff was extremely attentive. We were served authentic Greek food family style; octopus, calamari, psilokomeni, moussaka, pastitsio, lamb, chicken, rice etc. The portions were huge & delicious!! We even got to meet the chef & Christina herself! A great time was had by all & Christina's has acquired quite a few new customers / friends. We will be sure to make Christina's one of our regular stops whenever we are back in Laval. Helen & JB
I'm a big fan of this restaurant. They have 2 menus. One with more traditional plates like gemista, roast pork, roast lamb, moussaka, pasticio, etc. & the other like pikilia, souvlakis, chicken, etc. I always go for traditional & never have I ever been dissapointed!!! Prices are not cheap but portions are great & everything is fresh & flavourful. Staff is really friendly too. This place is simply great. Go already!
Dinner tonight at this little family Greek casual restaurant in Laval that was highly recommended ... Christina's Cuisine. When we walked in we were greeted & somehow it was clear that we had not been there before, so the man proceeded to show us some of the items in the hot case for tonight's specials with beaming pride (in case we were unfamiliar with Greek food). Although they didn't show our reservation, they sat us immediately (& the restaurant was full during our whole meal...with several people popping in for take away.) It was just a small strip mall restaurant, but it smelled wonderful & felt warm & welcoming & you could almost feel a sense of pride before you even started eating. We ordered a Greek salad (fresh, crisp, & good olives), calamari (meaty & crisp without being greasy), octopus (delicious & perfectly prepared, but a very small amount for the price), tzatziki (creamy & yummy, although I'd prefer a little more garlic, dill, & mint. I like to reek after eating this ;D), moussaka (Greek comfort food at its homey best), pork roast & potatoes (perfectly savory potatoes that Mitch went gaga over & a nice beautiful flavor to the pork...although I always find roast pork to be a little dry, so not my favorite...the flavorful juices served with it made it delicious, grilled lamb chops (absolutely Mmmmmm & my favorite ... although not especially meaty, very enjoyable & hit the spot). Mia & I got Aperol spritz's (that they made cute with some blueberries & sprig of mint) that were very Aperol forward, our favourite twist as we lean more toward a Aperol 3/Prosecco 2/Fizzy Water 1 ratio instead of the usual Prosecco 3 & Aperol 2 Fizzy Water 1 norm. We enjoyed our meal & all felt like this is the type of place that would be quick to recognize you if you came back & probably treat like family if you were a regular (especially having watched the staff's conversations & body language with everyone coming in & dining or picking up to go). We look forward to coming back & maybe next time trying a gyro or souvlaki! (A couple of photos we swiped from their website as we dove in & forgot to take pix! Thr rest are ours ;) )
I love Greek food & I love small cozy areas & that's exactly what this place is delicious, great food & a really cozy restaurant. Had the calamari was great. Greek solid. Fantastic. They had a nice display of traditional Greek dishes like moussaka & pastizio along with fish & so many different things to choose from. The tzatziki was to die for. Definitely going to come back. Definitely recommend it
Christina's food is absolutely delicious. I had there moussaka & it's to die for lol. I've had others on there menu, but the moussaka is by far my favorite. Keep up the good work Christina's.
