Almost hidden store serving breakfast 8am to 2 pm. So it's not open all day.
Beirut sesame bread served with salty or sweet option.
I like it. But would need more stuff on weekend.
We were greeted by a nice lady who bakes bread herself in the Lebanese style. She served us & two other people & was interested in talking to her customers & getting to know them within the limits of politeness. The bread is fresh & baked according to the quantities sold. There is a healthy brown bread with bran & a white one with a thin or thick layer. There is a very small type suitable for parties & occasions. She used to spread the bread on a wooden platform in closed glass boxes & then pack it in bags when it was ready. She did not leave the bread to dry while it was uncovered, but made sure to cover it even if she went for a while to get something. She had a bar that contained some salads such as fattoush & tabbouleh & some home-made products for breakfast. She has a menu of vegetarian or meat sandwiches. After you choose & heat them for you, you can choose to put vegetables & pickles, or you can buy the bread alone. We had thyme with thin cakes with tomatoes, & an Akkawi cheese sandwich with thick bread with sumac, olives & tomatoes, with two cups of tea with a very delicious cinnamon flavor. The tea flavor was not pungent, but was flavored in the right amount. The place is very clean & Small but cozy, suitable for individuals & groups of 4-5 people. The shop is closed only on Mondays, & I advise you to visit it during the week for a simple & delicious breakfast in a simple session. We had two sandwiches, two cups of tea, & took 6 large loaves of bread home, & the total was $36. I advise you to try it.
I had the chance to have breakfast at Wafi this morning. The sandwiches made with the homemade Lebanese bread was deliciouuus ! We had the chance to be served by the owner herself, a very sweet lady. Absolutely recommended.
