Très beau succès d'un classique de mon adolescence, repris par une famille passionnée & dévouée. Les frites sont de niveau « aréna », service exceptionnel, & la sauce à poutine & le « bouche trou » valent le détour!
On a pris la poutine, effectivement elle est WOW, les frites sont moelleuses pas trop grosses, la sauce est délicieuse & ils n'ont pas peur d'en mettre, une bonne quantité de fromage.

Je cherchais un endroit aux alentours de St Philippe pour manger un hot-dog avec une poutine, assis dehors...j'en ai trouvé un....Chez Monique. Menu varié, le service est super rapide, & mon lunch vraiment bon. Les prix sont dans la moyenne. Il y a plusieurs tables de pique-nique avec parasols pour s'asseoir & manger. Les tables étaient propres à mon arrivée. Pour ce qui est du stationnement, il faut se stationner dans la rue. Je n'ai pas vu de contre-indications dans la rue avoisinante. Satisfaite de cette découverte.
Personnel sympathique! Je ne suis pas fan de sauce brune habituellement mais j'ai beaucoup aimé cette fois. Les patates frites sont excellentes. Je recommande le bouche trou, très gras mais plein de saveur.
Nouvelle review vu les nouveaux propriétaires (2023). Enfin, Chez Monique est restauré de façon adéquate! Ayant grandi dans les alentours, Chez Monique a toujours eu une place de choix dans mon coeur (bon vieux spécial à 3$). La nouvelle équipe a sue comment moderniser la'cantine' sans perdre trop de son identité originale. Évidemment, les prix ont montés comme partout ailleurs, mais la qualité & le service sont irréprochables. Si, comme moi, vous aviez étés déçus des services offerts par les derniers propriétaires, Chez Monique & sa nouvelle équipe mérite d'être essayée de nouveau! Edit 2024: Le bouche-trou est de retour!

pout pout POOOOUT!! Everyone can make poutine but not everyone can make poutine like Chez Monique. Not only is it generous & reasonably priced (19$ for a family sized) but it tastes TRÈS BON! As comparison: I love the fat fries & tangy sauce of Décarie Hot Dog's poutine. One of my all time FAV...but I have to say that the one I had at Chez Monique tonight, although a tad sweater, is MUCH better. The potatoes are amazing! Especially if you like the brown fat fries nortorious in QC. Hefty amount of fresh cheese. Great thick & savoury sauce. A beautiful mess! They use fresh ingredients (i.e. no frozen fries nor ground meat) & you can taste it. It's definitely worth the trek to try this squeak squeak delight. You won't regret it. The Italian poutine is good but the regular original is just that much better. If you have to choose, take regular. If you have 2 stomachs like me. Try the 2. Burgers are good. Gobbled up in no time! Michigan has a generous amount of meat sauce. Did not order their signature bun "bouche trou" but maybe next time: hot dog bun with ground beef douzed with piutine sauce. Might be cheese in there too. I have to admit 6$ is a bit steep. If you order a combo: check if it is cheaper to order each item separately. I think that some combo prices don't add up. There are plenty of seating space with picnic tables but the little sparrows have clearly been hand-fed. They will fly right up your face or plate to try to peck at your food. So do not eat there if Hitchcock scares you or birds on your table or your face bothers you even a little. Take out instead. Special shout out to the couple who run this place. Hard working & lovely couple who are clearly proud of their food.
Super picky with Poutine. Fries are awesome, smaller than most Fast-Food places so gravy doesnt get absorbed. Lots of cheese. Everything is fresh & hot. Gravy is good. Add a bit of salt & everything is perfect. Try the Bouche Trou. One of the best thing on their menu.
Super bonne poutine. Le secret est dans l'assemblage (fromage, sauce, frites, sauce, frites, fromage, sauce!) Le bouche-trou, au début c'est bizarre, on a l'impression de pas aimer... Mais après 4 bouchée, on englouti au complet haha

Meilleure poutine sur la rive sud & possiblement la meilleure au Québec fromage en bonne sauce incroyable frite bien cuites & croustillantes & leur genre de bouche trou savoureux.
GREAT PLACE! Amazing service great poutine, great Bouche-trou & Great people. Generous sizes & great care while making the food. They add sauce on the bottom layer & a lot at the top for each of them & for this I have to say they are the greatest!
