Review Summary

Across multiple reviews, Chez Lien is described as offering excellent service and delicious, healthy Vietnamese cooking with generous portions and affordable prices. Diners praise a cozy, welcoming atmosphere and a menu that covers classic Vietnamese staples such as pho and other traditional bowls, with many calling it among the best Vietnamese restaurants in Montreal, especially in the east. The staff are repeatedly noted as friendly and attentive, and the kitchen is described as consistently good with fresh, well prepared dishes. Parking is limited, with nearby street parking available, and the restaurant does not take credit cards, so cash is preferred; Bring Your Own Wine is allowed. There is often a lively, busy vibe and quick service, and desserts like the fried banana with ice cream are mentioned; overall the dining experience is seen as reliable, enjoyable, and worth returning to.

The menu has a great variety of traditional dishes. I ordered the Ph? ??c bi?t (Special Beef Noodle Soup), & it was one of the best I've had outside of Vietnam. The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy & welcoming, with beautiful Vietnamese-inspired decor. The staff was friendly, attentive, & happy to recommend dishes for first-time visitors.

If you're looking for an authentic Vietnamese dining experience with delicious food & great service,

The service was amazing! They had English menus & the wait staff really went out of their way to make us feel welcome & explained everything on the menu. They even threw in a free spring roll which was so generous & thoughtful of them. The appetizer which was the beef wrapped in leaves was very unique & unlike anything I've tried before. I would get it again! The grilled meats were tasty too. I liked the chicken & the beef. They tasted like your typical Vietnamese meats. The soup was interesting because of the vegetables but it had good amount of depth! I enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend coming here for your Vietnamese cravings! Even as a tourist I appreciated the atmosphere & the warm welcome we received. Love the couple from Vancouver :3
