Food was great, we waited 55 minutes for a table for two on a Sunday, (outside,(winter, snowing) but that seems normal in the area) Food came out fast. Pastel de Nata is delicious, Alfajores are good! The waiting time was worth it.
My wife, son, & I thoroughly enjoyed our brunch experience here. Opting for the Déjeuner Portugais, we were pleased with both the flavorful dishes & the diverse, healthy menu options. The cozy & warm ambiance, coupled with excellent service, made our visit even more delightful.
I had to write this review the moment I left this restaurant. I am genuinely impressed by the quality of the food & the speed we got our plates. Not to mention that it was super tasty & delicious, but for a breakfast I had a strong meal, perfectly prepared & well balanced! Charle our waiter was very kind & friendly. The service is great with good recommendations. I was particularly pleased with the Natas & their coffee is really good! This is such a small restaurant but with big potential & even bigger heart! Absolutely recommend!
I went there on Saturday midday with my friends. The food was good & tasty mainly the Portuguese breakfast. There's not as great as expecting but the vibes are quite nice. The place is really small which we didn't know, so we needed to wait for around 40 min to get a table for 3 people. Maybe a place to try for take out or be ready to wait in line.
Chez Jose est magnifique! L'atmosphère chaleureuse & le service attentif rendent la visite super agréable. Le petite déjeuner est formidable & les pasteis de nata sont incroyables.
We had one of the most delicious breakfast experiences at Chez José Café. The food was amazing - we had a Portuguese breakfast & pasteis de nata, to die for! - & our waiter was excellent! The place is also super cute & fun. We will come back whenever we are here in Montreal.

Nice spot for Portuguese style brunch, we liked the food although it can use some more seasoning. They have a variety of vegan & Gluten free options, our waiter was super nice & accommodating. The place & the vintage vibes are nice, but they have a single bathroom & it can use some tidiness. Would definitely recommend if you're ever around the area.
Beaucoup de prétention & cher pour ce qui est servi. Trop lent & de plus, faire attention à l'hygiène. Very pretentious & expensive for what is served. Too slow & moreover, pay attention to hygiene.
Si ce n'était pas de l'attente de presque une heure pour avoir une table, j'y retournerais sans hésitation. J'ai pris la soupe aux fruits de mer: un vrai régal. Toutefois, je ne reprendrais pas le dirty chaï latté.
So so so good. Delicious breakfast sandwich, & even better vibes. The staff were beyond kind & cool. Everything was sooo yum! Update: went back - the veggie omelet sandwich with blue cheese is maybe my favourite breakfast sando I've ever had. Unreal. The Spanish omelette is also delish - a big meal!!
Had a late night dinner here. Didn't even look at the menu but just trusted in the recommendations & was not disappointed. Had a Mexican style crepe that was phenomenal. Dessert was a Portuguese tart that I recommend not using the provided spoon. Just grab & eat in with your hands. So delicious & worth a little mess on your hands.
As someone from south India, I absolutely loved the food here. I tried the breakfast variant foodavec viande, it was a really good, it was a bigger portion & I had a full tummy! I would really suggest this place if you are visting Montreal. The price too wasnt expensive! Although you have to wait quite a bit to get a table, we waited 45 mins, but lemme tell you it was worth the wait. :)
