Review Summary

Reviews of Chez Cheval across its locations describe a warm, welcoming atmosphere and service that is often described as outstanding, with coffee that many call excellent and drinks like pistachio latte or rich latte praised for quality. The pastry program is highlighted for fresh, delicious items and the terrace or patio adds to the cozy vibe, making it a good spot for work or conversation. On the other hand, some feedback notes that kitchen timing and branch hours can lead to disappointments, such as ovens being closed and sandwiches arriving cold, and gluten-free options are limited. Overall, Chez Cheval is seen as a beloved cafe for coffee lovers and pastry fans, offering a charming experience and reliable hospitality that invites return visits.

The atmosphere here is fantastic, but it's not exactly a coffee shop experience. When I asked the cashier about the flavor notes of their filtered coffee, she had no idea what I was talking about. We looked behind her & saw they use beans from Barista-a budget brand you can find at the supermarket. It's a bit like going to a dessert restaurant & being served cake from the grocery store. Note to the manager: Your shop is really nice, & you might consider sourcing coffee beans from micro-roasters. You can find much better beans for just 20-30 cents more per cup-a price I'd gladly pay. By serving Barista beans, you're offering coffee that many people can already make at home.
