It is inside the Waldmans' on St Laurent blvd near Rachel. Looks like a fruit & veg depanneur from the outside. Don't let that away you. Nice little tables set up.in the back. Worth the search. Anna cooks everything from scratch. So fresh & tasty! An the apple strudel!!!! Delicious Will definitely return. They have take out also. You have to try it.
I love everything about Chez Anna. I love that you're sitting in the back of a small grocery store, I love that there are only like 6 tables, I love that the service is warm & welcoming, but most of all I love the food. This is Hungarian food as it should be - home cooked, rich, warm, filling, & so so delicious. I haven't had my nagymama's cooking since the last time I visited Hungary, but Chez Anna is the next best thing. Go here, eat everything, you will not be sorry. Nagyon szépen köszönöm a finom vacsorát, Chez Anna.
Mixed in with a grocery store, I was happy to drop by this eclectic place when visiting in Montreal a few weeks ago. The lamb goulash was incredible, & the owners make for good conversation.
I really enjoyed dining at chez Anna, the ladies working there are lovely, food is great, big portions & reasonably priced, the setting is inside a grocery store but the vibe is intimate & cute, I love it. 10/10
looks like a supermarket but we head there for their goulash! Price is very fair & very hearty to have one especially in colder weather!!! The store workers are very friendly as well!!! 100% Recommended!
By far the BEST place to eat on St. Laurent. The food is absolutely incredible & the service was lovely! I come back again & again because it's just so good & feels so homey:)
Fantastic spot. Best authentic Hungarian food we've had in a long time! Great service, quick, great portions & good prices. Couldn't ask for more. We will return for sure!
We visited the city for conferencing, got bored of the event on its third day & decided to climb up Mt. Royal, & on our way down found this absolute gem where we thought we could perhaps find some figs & smetana. After we realized they also serve food, we decided to stay for an unexpected feast. The food was as every bit good as the one I had tasted in Budapest during the two months I spent there, the wine was great & underrated as you would expect from a Hungarian wine, & our waiter was extremely nice to us - even more so after he learned we were from Turkey. If you want a quaint corner which feels like home & where you can have great food for a very reasonable price, this is probably the best Montreal has to offer.
It's a very enjoyable restaurant, it makes you feel at home, portions are a big & at a good price for value, food is delicious & service is great. A great place to go if you want to support a small business & to relax.
Food was amazing, price was fantastic, the team was so warm & inviting, & oddly enough eating in the middle of a grocery store was a fun experience. HIGHLY recommend eating here.
Darling. Excellent schnitzel, spaetzle & real goulash. Charming staff & love that you’re tucked into a little corner of the store.
Quaint little place which taste like a home cooked meal made by your own grandmother. The owner is very kind & attentive. My husband had the lamb goulash & I had the kashakaval dish (warning, it’s a lot of cheese!). Both dishes were delicious!
