Chez Anna est décrit comme un lieu chaleureux et familier, tenu par une petite équipe et proposant une cuisine hongroise et européenne de l'est réconfortante et faite maison avec des portions généreuses. Les plats comme le schnitzel, le goulash, les spaetzle et la strudel aux pommes sont loués pour leur saveur et leur impression de plats préparés à la commande, avec une attention particulière à la fraîcheur et au goût maison. L'ambiance est cosy et accueillante, même si l établissement est caché dans une épicerie et peut être facile à manquer, et le service est en général chaleureux et attentif, parfois un peu lent. Dans l'ensemble, l'endroit est perçu comme une perle rare qui offre des repas copieux et réconfortants à bon prix, encourageant les retours.
My husband was longing for Hungarian food & we found Chez Anna & thought we would try it. We had Hortobágyi palacsinta, Tejfölös uborkasaláta & csirkepaprikás. It was delicious. Anna was very friendly, what a gem to find. We don't have any Hungarian restraunts in Vancouver, BC anymore so this was such a a delight.
A small diamond in the ruff hidden in the back of the small grocery store Étoile Waldmans, those who like homemade Hungarian schnitzels , spetzel & goulash, will like Chez Anna, also fish specials & daily specials everyday. Fast ,warm & friendly. Food is made to order & delicious.

I'll start with the phone call for making the reservation. What Anna told me describes the restaurant perfectly:'we got good food & we got alcohol. The only thing you need to bring is your appetite'
You want good authentic hungarian food? That is your spot. Most generous portions I have seen in MTL for a while!
So far you understand you come to a mom-&-pops type restaurant, you'll have a great time. The menu is one page, & each meal they make they make well!!
Anna is a great host & Lili was a very good waitress, it felt like we were at home.
We took the salads, soups & the crepe appetizer. The crepe is like nothijg you had before, definitely would recommend as an introduction to hungarian food.
Then the schnitzel, cordon bleu & rabbit for main dishes. All of them delicious.
The desserts are either an apple or cherry strudel. both are equally delicious! Anna really knows her craft.
I cannot believe it is still a hidden gem, you must visit!
Bloody awesome & no fuss! Got the chicken schnitzel with spaetzal & pepper stew. Holy moly. Simple perfection. 5 times in montreal & this is one of the best meals I've eaten in the city. & for the price & supporting a local business you cant beat.
i just had my meal experience ruined & I am feeling ill in my stomach after I went to pay & had the woman at the counter (I was told her name is Edith) verbally assaulting me. I was getting ready to pay & she uttered xenophobic remarks at me telling me it is the last time she wants to see me at'her' store. she said this in such an aggressive & full of hate manner as she was taking my money.
she said,'Spanish sl*ts are not welcome to come here'
??? I am not even Spanish, I am latina.
Completely unhinged behavior that I never experienced anywhere in Montreal before. I am still stunted.

First time we tried this restaurant. Guys, it was AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING !!! Delicious food, super kind staff, perfect portion, good price! Definitely we'll be back! 🤩🤩🤩
A few tables located in the back of a dep made for a lovely experience. The women who served us were very kind & helpful, & the food was delicious. They served us water with cucumber too which was very refreshing :) I hope to come back
