One of my favourite places in Montreal! The food is ALWAYS incredible. The meat is always moist, the food is always hot, & very authentic!!!View more
Lovely store, great little ready made food options.View more
Avy-Loren Cohen's review is spot on. This isn't so much a formal restaurant as it is a small grocery store with an attached kitchen & dedicated dining area in the back (there are about 8 or so 4 person tables). What you can expect food-wise is an authentic Hungarian home-cooked meal. If that's the vibe you're looking for, then you absolutely won't be disappointed. As far as quality goes, the food was excellent, the service was prompt & very kind, & the value given the amount of food you get is solid. I would absolutely recommend Chez Anna if you are looking for a homestyle Hungarian meal in the city.View more
A wonderful place with an old soul & an interesting layout. You step into what seems like a small grocery store, & turn the corner to see a comfy group of tables set up (some with gorgeous designs on top-looks handpainted). The menu is perfect. Enough selection to give you choices, but not so much that it takes 20 minutes to figure out what you want. We came for my birthday, & I received the most heartfelt well wishes from our server, & she even put a candle in my strudel & sang Happy Birthday to me! I nearly cried. It was so, so nice. The perfect warm & cozy atmosphere, with the most comforting delicious food. I can't wait to come back!View more
It's exactly like visiting your grandmas house but in a grocery store setting! We got big glasses of wine on arrival & ordered the pork schnitzel which was absolutely divine! So happy we found this hidden spot! Best schnitzel in town ♥️View more
What a jewel. The ultimate place, if you want to experience home cooking quality dishes. I had the veal crêpe (remember to ask for a bun to lap up sauce). The main, Goulash was everything one could expect. I had the plum strudel, & you tell it was made there. My son had apple, you could taste how fresh the apples were. The restaurant section is a portion, within "marketplace ". There's à Piano + Guitar if anyone wants to play. I'll definitely be back. BTW 3 course meal for 2 was < $80. Simply can't béat that.View more
What a great hidden gem- so hard to spot, we almost thought it didn't exist! Such a wonderful home cooked meal quality. The lamb goulash was tender & just what was needed on a cold winter night. Excellent & friendly service! Can't wait to go back & try moreView more
All the dishes on the menu are excellent!! However, it's too bad the restaurant isn't really visible from the outside & the atmosphere could be better given it's in depanneur/fish store.View more

Goulash & schnitzel typiquement Hongrois. , authentique & sympathiqueView more
Delicious food & the people are so warm & friendly. Bit of a hole in the wall hiding in a small grocery store, but well worth stopping in here. If you have a craving for schnitzel, you won't be disappointed. After tasting the schnitzel, I couldn't stay away, & am excited for tonight's paprikash. Thank you Anna!View more
Fabuleux. View more

Fantastic & authentic Hungarian home cooked food. As my dear friend, who grew up with his Hungarian mother's cooking, it reminds him of his earlier days eating at his mom's dinner table. Flavorful & hearty comfort food, feels like a warm hug on a plate. Loved it, & will definitely be back for more.View more
My husband discovered this l'il gem of a place on the internet. We were coming into town for a concert, & wanted to go for an early dinner. As foodies our objective is real good food for a decent price. We'll, we certainly found it at Chez Anna. The portions were generous, the price was good, the food was delicious, delicious, delicious!!! Thank you to Anna & Edith for their kindness & hospitality. We are eagerly looking to return, this time with our young adult children. Give it a try, very much worth it. We loved our choices of veal paprikash & pork schnitzel 😋❤️😋❤️😋❤️😋❤️View more
