Review Summary

Chef Istanbul is highly regarded for its flavorful and authentic Turkish cuisine, with many patrons praising the fresh, homemade bread and generous portions. The menu, which includes standout items like the falafel, kebab plates, and chicken shawarma, is frequently described as delicious, healthy, and reasonably priced. While the atmosphere is generally considered welcoming and cozy, service is consistently highlighted as a major strength, with staff members being noted for their kindness, efficiency, and hospitality. Despite a few mixed opinions regarding consistency and environment, the overall consensus is that this restaurant offers an excellent dining experience that keeps locals and students coming back.

The same type of sandwich as Antep offer but with lower quality! Just the bread is fresh but the quality of the meat is not good! The lamb kebab sandwich has a very bad smell!

Is it a good sandwich? yes. But is it worth waiting 20 minutes & interacting with a miserable cashier? no.

This is the best Turkish food in Montreal -- hands down! I've eaten here many times, & have come to learn that I can't just buy the kebab; but I have to get the homemade fries & sauce too; & enjoy it with some cold ayran & hot çay --- now that's a whole experience that I wasn't brave enough to have in just one sitting. It's an'eat-in' & a'take-out' kind of meal. May God richly bless the restaurant owner(s), & staff, for always providing quality food & service! 🙏🏼😋🤩😁

The location & atmosphere is great, but the taste & service is questionable. First of all, Lahmacun is not crispy, & too thick. This is the usual issue of Turkish restaurants in Montreal. They still couldn't make a crispy thin Lahmacun. It is like a "Kiymali Pide" but tasty. Make it thinner, crispier, it is possible with pizza ovens, you just need to work on it. Secondly döner. Why you keep it calling it Shawarma in a "Cuisine Turque" restaurant. Looks like you had the döner, tantuni (even innovative Tantuni Iskender) in your old menu, but it is no longer existing. Döner assiette (it was promoted as Swarma) was an average swarma as its best, not bad, & soft, but not good looking. Prices are not cheap, & service was slow. Propapably will not come back unless they figure it out crispy Lahmacun & thinly sliced juicy & tender döner. I have visited more than 6 or 7 Turkish restaurants in Montreal, & have to admit most of them are disappointing. Will keep looking though. Guys, do it the original way please!
