Chalet Thai is widely celebrated for its delicious, authentic flavors and consistently excellent food quality, ranging from rich soups and fresh salads to savory main dishes and notable peanut sauce. Guests frequently praise the welcoming and attentive service, which adds to the warm and inviting atmosphere. The beautiful terrace location by the water provides a relaxing and picturesque setting that makes it a favorite destination for many. While some feedback suggests that pricing or portion sizes could be improved for certain items, the overall consensus highlights a delightful dining experience defined by high-quality dishes and genuine hospitality.
It was our first time back after a while. The portions have drastically decreased & the plates consist of the protein & vegetables for a minimum of $22, & you have to pay an extra $5 for rice, which should just be included. It costs you a minimum of $30 for a small portion that doesn't fill you up. For the portion, rice should always be included. The pad Thai had 3-4 small shrimps. Guess we won't be coming back.
The waiter was kind & tended to us well. I ordered a chicken with red curry, which while pleasant & light, was a bit overpriced for the portion given. It also was surprising that you had to pay for a cup of rice, apx. 4$ for regular rice & 50 cents more for sticky rice, when in any other restaurant the rice is accompanied by the meal. A single serving of chicken curry with a side of rice was 31$. I believe that other menu items would perhaps be more worthwhile- although if you're looking for Thai styled chicken with red curry, there are better tasting & more reasonably priced restaurants downtown.
From the moment you step into Chalet Thai, you're greeted with a warmth that promises an exceptional dining experience. The service here is nothing short of excellent, with staff members who are not just attentive but genuinely caring. They frequently check in to ensure your comfort, making the entire meal feel personalized & special. The menu is a delightful journey through Thailand's culinary landscape, offering an extensive range of traditional dishes that cater to various palates. Whether you're a Thai cuisine aficionado or a curious first-timer, there's something here for everyone. A standout dish is the Chicken Thai Curry, which is a harmonious blend of spices & coconut milk, creating a comforting yet exotic taste that lingers pleasantly. The Fried Rice is fluffy & well-seasoned, making it the perfect accompaniment to the curry. The Chicken Sauté with Vegetables & Peanut Sauce is another must-try, with its tender chicken pieces & vibrant veggies drenched in a delectable peanut sauce that's both nutty, sweet & savory. For families, this restaurant is a gem. They are notably conscious of serving children promptly, ensuring that the little ones are happy & fed without undue wait times. It's a thoughtful touch that adds to the restaurant's family-friendly appeal. A small tip for future patrons: consider ordering a small rice to go with your curry dishes. It's the ideal portion to savor the curry without overwhelming your taste buds or your appetite. In conclusion, this Thai restaurant is a culinary delight that offers more than just a meal; it provides an experience that's rich in flavours & hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in the true essence of Thai cuisine. Bon Appétit & merci!🍛🥢
This is my favourite restaurant to go the general Tao chicken is the best but recently they but less Sauce on the chicken not as good but still delicious but Back then this was the go to place
Beef with Thai sauce & the fresh spring rolls were awesome. Service were good. Very nice terrasse right next to the river. Back entrance has access to the canal lock boardwalk for a nice stroll after lunch or dinner. Very enjoyable, would go again.
