We had the salmon & shrimp combo with a lemon infused rice & grilled vegetables & another had the seafood with rice. There was no seating for 4 outside, but their indoor dining room is very charming & cozy. They had one waiter serving the whole room, so it was a bit of a wait for these hungry customers but not overly long. We scoffed down the fresh bread, which would haveceven been better a little bit warm. Our food came fairly quick & the total bill wasn't too bad (we didn't order drinks or appetizers). We came here after the Aura show at Notre Dame Bascilica. Overall, a good restaurant.
Enjoyed traditional Portuguese cuisine in Montreal! Had the pleasure of meeting the owners! They were so gracious!
They spoke to us in Portuguese!
Family owned restaurant! Celebrating 51 years in 2023!
Highly recommend!
Thank you for a lovely dining experience on our last night in Montreal!
Great Portugeuse/French restaurant in old Montreal. The food was delicious, I had a sur la mer style pasta & my wife had a beautifully cooked salmon & shrimp over rice. Plenty of fresh baked bread & several rounds of drinks. The service was equally good, an older gentleman got to know us a bit was a big hockey fan knowing players from our home town team from back in the 70's, lol. Stop here you won't regret it. Sadly the only photo I took was our view from the table.
Excellent food & service. Most of us had seafood & it was great in all the ways it was prepared. The waiter really made our evening even more enjoyable. The prices are not low, but normal for the area, with a seafood plate around 48-50 CAD & seafood apetizers around 18 CAD. The fish of the day was also great & it was around 40 CAD.
Merci!
The restaurant is very clean & food was very healthy & tasty. I had fish & it was very filling. Nice atmosphere

We went for dinner with our friends & the food was absolutely delicious, the fish & seafood was so fresh, probably the best I've had in a long time. The live music was great as well. Overall an amazing experience at Solmar. I would definitely recommend.

Wow! Our experience at Casa Solmar was amazing. We were there Saturday night, a group of 4 people & all of us loved the experience. The best seafood we've tasted in awhile, perfectly cooked & seasoned. The live performance was great as well & being in Old Montreal is perfect. We are very happy to have discovered this restaurant & we'll certainly be back again to taste more dished !

Great Portuguese restaurant, everything was delicious & fresh. Service was very good too.
