About

Café Three Pines presents an assortment of baked goods centered on texture and seasonal flavors. Golden, flaky layers define the butter croissants, while dense muffins offer a moist crumb punctuated by fresh berries. The pastry case displays tarts filled with smooth, fruit-forward preserves and shortcrust pastry that shatters upon the first bite. Every item relies on simple techniques to highlight the natural qualities of the flour and butter used throughout the baking process. A selection of warm, roasted coffee beans complements the sweetness found in the sugar-dusted danishes and spiced cinnamon buns. These handmade treats remain consistent in their preparation, providing a straightforward experience for anyone seeking a snack crafted with care. The scent of toasted grains and caramelized sugar lingers near the counter, grounding the senses in a quiet, grounded environment.

Review Summary

Café Three Pines is widely celebrated as a cozy, welcoming oasis that successfully captures the charming atmosphere of the beloved book series. Visitors frequently praise the magical, relaxing environment and the unique opportunity to connect with fellow patrons and local neighbors in a comfortable setting. While the experience is often highlighted as a highlight of visiting the area, some guests suggest that the coffee quality and the organization of the drink pickup process could be improved for a smoother visit. Overall, the combination of delicious treats, an inviting ambiance, and the adjacent bookstore creates a special destination that leaves a lasting positive impression on those who stop by.

This is the cafe that popular noelist Louise Penny has established downstrairs from the Book Books.

Great place. Comfy furniture & atmosphere. Food & coffee were terrific. Service is still a little untrained, but friendly. & you can see Hillary Clinton's autograph on one of the columns! Highly recommend.

Aug 16, 2026 Update. The best caramel oat milk latte anywhere. Compares very favourably with what I make at home. Service has improved considerably. Still, highly recommended.

I went for breakfast & later was treated to lunch. Both were fantastic! As a chai latte drinker I have to say that this was one of the best I've ever had. Perfect amount of spice. Everyone was very friendly. Greta atmosphere. I highly recommend it.

As a fan of Louise Penny & her Three Pines enthusiasts, we of course enjoyed the Cafe Three Pines. Very busy, but worth it. After our Cafe Latte & croissant we enjoyed upstairs in the bookstore that serves as inspiration for a character's bookstore & area's Three Pines vibe. I will most definitely try to visit when the opportunity presents as there is a theraputic soul soothing effect.

The Three Pines Café is a special & simply magical place. In fact, after several visits here, I think I have discovered what I would call « the Fourth Pine ». The Fourth Pine, as I would define it, is that warmth you feel within your heart when sitting in one of the well-designed seating areas (thank you Louise & Kirk) that encourage patrons & friends to meet & exchange on numerous subjects of common interest, while at the same time being coddled by the very courteous & attentive staff.

EVERY time I have been here, I've had the opportunity to engage in the most interesting conversations with people from all around the world, from the Yukon to Namibia, as well as with many of our local neighbours. As an added bonus, my Labernese dog is always welcome here!

The common love of reading & writing, the search for an oasis of peace, the sumptuous coffee & mouth-watering snacks, all draw people to the Three Pines Café & are a powerful testament to the success of this wonderful gift from Louise Penny to Ville de Lac-Brome.
