We absolutely love having breakfast at Café Lulu whenever we're in Montreal. Since it's right across from our hotel, it has become one of the highlights of our trips, & we always look forward to coming back.
The crepes, omelettes, & sandwiches are consistently delicious, fresh, & satisfying. Their cappuccinos & Americanos are also amazing - the perfect way to start the day.
What truly makes Café Lulu special, though, is the warm & personal service. A very special thank you to Kelly, who recognized my daughter & me by name when we returned after an entire year. That kind of genuine hospitality is rare & incredibly meaningful. Also, special mention to owner Fadi & all the staff that work so hard & tirelessly for always being so welcoming & attentive.
Café Lulu feels more than just a breakfast spot - it feels familiar, friendly, & comforting every time we visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a wonderful breakfast experience in Montreal!
My wife & I are visiting Montreal. At times, it can be a little bit hard, going to restaurants & not speaking French. We walked into Lulu's a bit overwhelmed & the staff was incredibly helpful, so kind, & so lovely to speak with offering to translate the whole menu & talking with us. We really enjoyed this spot & will definitely be back in the future. Thank you to all the staff !
We had an excellent & delicious breakfast with fresh salad & crêpes. Even though it was quite crowded, the staff was very friendly, quick, & attentive. We really enjoyed the atmosphere & would definitely come back.
Fantastic food & service. Very welcoming staff that made a great start of our day.
It was extremely busy due to the F1 weekend, & the staff seemed overwhelmed trying to manage the crowd in this small restaurant.
We ordered our food to go in case we could not get a table or needed to leave quickly.
However… after bringing the food, the waitress told us that'in Montreal, restaurants are not allowed to serve food to go if customers are dining in because they can get'fined.' This did not seem accurate & was confusing. If the restaurant has its own policy about takeout orders not being eaten inside, that is completely fine, but it should be communicated clearly instead of giving misleading information.
I would recommend avoiding busy F1 race days, as the restaurant becomes very crowded & the experience may suffe
Always a reliable place for great coffee & amazing services. The little small local business such as this cafe, is what make I fall in love with Montréal & the people here 👌✌?
YOU MUST TRY THE PISTACHIO CREPE WITH RASPERRY PURÉE best crepe I've ever had, insane value for what you pay - a repeat brunch order for me
Stopped in here for a cup of tea on a cold May morning. The lovely lady at the counter was so warm & welcoming that I was immediately comfortable there. When I apologised for my rickety French, she immediately switched to English, & when I said I was from Newfoundland, we bonded instantly. (She confided she's always wanted to visit us!) Cafe Lulu is the best of Montreal: a small, unassuming space with plenty of room & loads of delicious pastries & other delicacies. Exquisitely clean & tidy, & the tables are close enough that you can get to know your neighbours -- like the lovely young family from Oman I met! If you are in Montreal, don't miss this place. It's absolutely the best.
