Café Larue & Fils est décrite comme une adresse conviviale avec une ambiance chaleureuse et une terrasse agréable, propice au travail ou aux échanges entre amis, et avec beaucoup de places assises; le café et les boissons sont globalement bien notés, allant du latte au flat white en passant par le cappuccino, et les desserts comme le gâteau à la carotte sont souvent salués pour leur qualité; le service est généralement accueillant et professionnel, même si certains avis signalent une attitude un peu autoritaire ou des conversations du personnel qui couvrent celles des clients; l'espace peut devenir bondé et parfois étouffant, avec une musique parfois trop forte et un cadre qui peut ne pas être idéal pour étudier lorsque l'affluence est élevée; néanmoins l'endroit est apprécié pour son ambiance, son rapport qualité prix et sa localisation près du marché, et de nombreux visiteurs indiquent leur intention d'y revenir.
Spent an afternoon at the café while enjoying their flat white coffee with an extra shot of espresso. Ambiance was great & not too noisy, great enough to relax & chat with a few friends. The barista was very friendly & professional from the way he prepared our drinks. I would like to return there if I am around that neighbourhood again.
While on holiday in Montreal visiting family, & near my sister's house, we discovered this fabulous coffee shop. Great flat whites that were just perfect & the best & lightest carrot cake I have ever eaten ( the moistest).
Will definitely go back again next time 👍🙏
The only negative thing to say is that sometimes the air feels stuffy in the Winter because it doesn't circulate enough given how many people are inside.
It's a lovely little café located near Marché Jean-Talon. With quick service & a nice terrace, it's the perfect stop to hangout with friends. Coffees are good & the desserts are delicious as well.

This is my favorite cafe in the city. The coffee is excellent (I prefer it to the 30 nearest spots except of course the other Larue), but it isn't the primary reason I come. It has a real local community vibe. Plus, they charge a very reasonable amount for the cappuccino & my kid gets a babyccino on the house. Also, all the pastries are tasty. & also! They have skim milk for my coffee. No one around here has it anymore.
Coffee is pretty good. But that's all that is good about this place. The barista serving you is not friendly & does not smile. Ruins the whole experience. Unfortunately, I won't be back.

Staff was incredibly friendly & my partner said the matcha was one of the best she's had( & she's a matcha addict!) Only disappointment I have is I was hoping to find a nice place to study, but they've covered all the outlets, so I was unable to charge my laptop to keep working. Altogether though, for a coffee date, the place seems perfect.

Coffee is fine, guy behind the counter was blurting out some pretty distasteful jokes to customers as they were lining up. Many seemed annoyed, maybe chill it out... lol
