I think it looked better before the renovation, & I miss the restaurant next door that used to be part of Helico. It was beautiful & great for working or meeting friends in the morning.
Food & coffee is great.
But personnel has a lot of attitude towards customers.
I miss the old concept! Old concept was giving cute Montréal vibes, new concept seems cold &'toronto' like. Amazing coffee though & staff is cool
im litterally grieving the old concept. its nothing like the photos anymore. It's cold, there are no more places to sit. It feels like it's just became the back of Helico restaurant. It's like where you should line up for the bathroom, with a little coffee counter as an extra. & you also cant ask to sit in the restaurant if the (2) seats are taken. Either you use the bathroom or you order a coffee & get out !
Today I tried this one, it was okey. The pumpkin late was very sugary & you barely have a taste of the pumpkin spices, they told me there is no sugar free option on that coffee ☕️💀 It's calm but the tables are kinda wobbly & there are a lot of movement from the kitchen to the tables, I don't recommend this to work or study 📚
Bread pudding was FIRE Dirty chai with oat milk was sadly not good- tasted like spiced water. Pumpkin spice latte was aight. Staff was very sweet & friendly. Overall cute place with nice people, maybe breakfast options are good? Our coffees just didn't hit.
This is the dream corner cafe nestled in a quiet unassuming neighborhood. However, the offerings are anything but ordinary. The usual suspects of pastries don't disappoint, but the real distinctions are the savory dishes cooked from the same kitchen as the acclaimed sister restaurant Helicopter. You can taste a preview of it at Helico's abridged menu of small plates offered from morning through the afternoon, which means lunch can start as early as breakfast time. On my visit the plates du jour included potatoes with smoked egg, ratatouille with peaches, eggplant tempura with a miso cream, tomato salad with croissant croutons & kambucha dressing. Their coffee selections are also not to be overlooked, an essential accompaniment to the inevitable dessert.
Such a fun cafe with excellent food & friendly service. We LOVED the tartare (best ever, to tell the truth- pictured is a 1/2 portion as we shared) & the little plastic dinos & farm animals lurking around in expected & unexpected places were darned cute. We also had the duck grilled cheese. It was also very good. Good coffee too!
Absolutely loved my visit to Helico Cafe in Hochelaga, Montreal! The coffee was outstanding-rich & perfectly brewed. The atmosphere was cozy & welcoming, making it a great spot to relax or catch up with friends. The staff were friendly & attentive, adding to the overall fantastic experience. Highly recommend!
Pastries are incredible. Coffee is quite good as well. Je recommande fortement!
Great 3rd wave coffee provided by even better staff! Everyone is super friendly & hospitable. Highly recommend if you are in the area.
