Stumbled upon Café Gentile on a lazy Sunday morning & honestly it might be my new go-to spot in the city. The cortado was perfectly balanced, not too bitter, & came out in under two minutes which I appreciated. The space has this warm, unhurried vibe that's rare to find on weekends when most cafes are packed & chaotic. Definitely coming back next time I'm exploring the Mile-Ex area.

There are so many unique avenues to explore in this place, making it perfect for groups. Everyone can find an option that appeals to them without trouble. The general vibe is highly welcoming, friendly, & full of energy. The workers here are efficient & ready to assist fast. I will surely come back later to see what else is around.

I like the place for the vibe & the service. The food & coffee not so much. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich that they were happy to customize (+++ service) - it was okay - basic - could be improved by using better cheese - something less processed.
I ordered a cappuccino & was a bit disappointed- i couldn't taste the coffee - i think the milk to coffee ratio could be improved.

That said- I appreciated the speedy service & the good vibes this place has to offer.

Simply amazing Italian cafe in the heart of MTL's garment district. They've been around longer than I've been alive. Serving some of the tastiest food, the best coffee & iced tea, all with prompt & curteous service. You get a total NYC deli / cafe vibe here at lunch; whether you're quickly dipping in to grab a sandwich between meetings or lounging around playing pool / chit chatting on the outside terrace. This is the hub of the "schmata" life on Chabanel. If you're in the garment trade, you know Gentile, & you love'em. A veritable institution.
