Had a great time while celebrating a birthday. Their Sunday brunch menu was delicious & Phil catered to all our needs. Staff was friendly & service was great!

Had a birthday with a group of girlfriends & we had such an amazing time!! We had their brand new group menu & all the food was outstanding. Service was really professional & everyone was friendly! Amazing experience overall ~

La qualité & les portions ont diminué de plus de 50% depuis la dernière année! Je suis tellement déçue de la commande que j'ai reçue! 15$ pour 4 branches de rapini complètement secs: c'est carrément insultant! Les prix des autres plats étaient également démesurés par rapport aux portions: le Branzino à 41$ mini portion de poisson sur quelques pâtes (j'étais gênée devant mon invitée) , le calmar farcis à 21$ pour 1 calmar coupé e 5 rondelles: on aurait dit des portions pour enfant ... j'ai commandé plus que pas assez (170$ pour 2) & il ne reste RIEN. Avant j'aurais eu des restes pour 3 jours. Vraiment, c'est du vol. Dommage car vous étiez mon restaurant réconfort No 1 :(
Update: I should brush up on my review; the food quality is not as good as expected. This restaurant/cafe is near my office, so I have been there quite a few times since the first visit, so it is time to adjust my expression about this place. They need to elevate their food quality; otherwise, it's worse to try, let alone the "PRICE." ( I'll refer you to my latest picture of their frise, witch almost burned & not crispy & highly likely not fresh ) ------------ 3 years ago ------------ I'll give the restaurant/cafe 5 stars, in general, not only because of their delicious food but also because of their attitude & customer service. _ I ordered fish from one of their meals of the day, yet it didn't go with my taste. (Nothing wrong with the food, just not my type) So, I asked for a different dish (to be added to my bill, of course), but they generously replaced my plate with fried veal & stuffed cheese, which was amazingly tasty. I would recommend this cafe; moreover, check it out, as it is marked as my weekly lunch spot.
I've been ordering & going to Gentile for years... & its always been hit or miss... this time was a miss sadly... we were 3 for lunch. Vibe was good... busy ...waitress was nice. Poured us water... first thing was a dead fly/fruit fly in my friends water... rough start. Fuggeaboutit was pretty dry. Sauces couldn't quite save it. Sausage & coleslaw sandwich was very good. Other friend hand the Portuguese style chicken sandwich... said it was decent. Sexy fries were a little undercooked... but not too bad... it just became a little much when ants were crawling on our table.. ice tea was great though... had the 2.0 with the mint... there was also some dead bugs in the light fixtures... was pretty off putting ... again... ive had good & bad experiences here before... was unfortunately not up to par this time
J'y suis allé une seule fois & la nourriture était décevante pour le prix. 30$ & plus l'assiette de pâte, je m'attendais à une portion au moins standard & savoureuse. J'ai également commandé un steak 54$, présentation était bien, mais rien de particulier au goût. Je ne suis pas glouton & je dirais que pour une personne normale, vous ne serez pas rassasié avec un seul plat principal malheureusement. Je déconseille ce restaurant à quiconque qui recherche la satisfaction qualité prix. Le service était bien par contre, j'ai laissé un bon pourboire malgré tout.
I came here with my family for sandwiches one afternoon. I had heard great things about this place & was not disappointed. I ordered the fuggetaboutit & I enjoyed the flavors. The fries, which come separate, were pretty standard. While the sandwich was good, I didn't think it was one of the best sandwiches in the city. I also felt the menu was a bit limited, so I'm not sure I need to come back as I got to try the dish that I wanted. Overall I'm happy to have tried it, but not exactly worthy of a second visit.

First time dining at Cafe Gentile. The service was absolutely impeccable. Our waiter was patient & friendly. He made fabulous suggestions for our meal. The atmosphere was ambient & very comfortable. Everyone who came to our table was respectful & professional. The food was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend. Will definitely return!
