Great dining experience. The service was friendly, food was fresh & pricing was very reasonable. The venue is absolutely stunning. Definitely going to visit again.
First time in this restaurant, we arrived at 10:30, It was a little slow at first as we had no waiter or waitress assigned to us until 11am. Luckily the person who ended serving us was so empathetic,I wish I got his name as he made the experience that much better. We had at least 3 people who came to see us, it took that one person to finally get our order. I hope that person sees this, im sure that waiter knows who he is, Thank you for the wonderful service you gave us.
Lunch: the soup of the day (pasta fagioli scarola) was dull & the grilled chicken sandwich was dry & tasteless. The service was very good & the atmosphere was lively & welcoming. People must go there for service & atmosphere but not for the food! They should make more of an effort & not treat their customers with such contempt.
Yesterday was my first visit to Café Gentile on the West Island &-no surprise-it was superb. The staff was warm, attentive, upbeat, & completely on their game. The food was everything I've come to expect from Gentile: incredibly fresh, full of flavour, & consistently delicious. From their meat dishes to the pastas, salads, breakfasts, & that perfect coffee… every bite feels intentional.
So grateful this Montreal gem now shines in more than one location.
I came here for a business lunch & it didn't disappoint, so many great things to choose from! I had the Tagliatelle Funghi which was really delicious! I highly recommend this place
This review is late but awesome. We have been coming to Gentile's for years & love it there. It has been a consistent place we go to where we know we are going to get the best service, delicious food & great coffee! Ana, Mike, & the rest of the family there always make us feel at home & so comfortable. For a place that is always buzzing, they never cut back on service or quality. If you want to book large groups they make the process easy & the fact that they have their pizza parlour next door is an added bonus (especially for our kids). If you want a proper Montreal experience with class, check it out!

We had a great meal here with 3 friends. Everyone's meals looked great - & the meals I tasted tasted great. Great service. Would go back again & again.
For ordering coffee & patisserie, they didn't give me menu & instead the waiter said the name of the items rapidly & the only option i knew was Nutella cookie to order, but even the Nutella cookie was not soft, the coffee was good enough!
I was in rush but they did not see me, wanting to say bill please 😄 but overall, it was ok.
Came by & bought the boccocini. Both my friend & I thought our sandwiches were bland & very basic for 16$. Comparable to IGA sandwich with better ingredients. My friend's smoked turkey sandwich didn't have any smoked flavour. My sandwich barely had an eggplant & it didn't have any flavour at that. Also wasn't hot, clearly panini'd but everything is room temperature. Portion is on the smaller side but acceptable. Service was fine, girl at the front didn't acknowledge us when we walked in idk just weird not to greet people when they walk in. Nice atmosphere though, I'm assuming their other food is better than the sandwiches.
Just went to Gentille to have an early supper. We were served by a woman at the cash. She told us that some of the sandwiches were unavailable to order because of the menu time. No problem. However, she did not ask if we wanted to dine in or order for takeout. Once we paid she told us that we have to wait to pick up our food & leave. We asked if it was possible to sit & eat inside or outside & she said no & that if we asked the manager it would be a definite no because he's very strict. She also suggested we only eat the salad at the table inside, but we were not allowed to eat our sandwich. She than suggested that we go eat on a picnic table at a nearby park. For our first time experience, food was good but service was very disappointing.
