We were just walking down the street & were drawn in by the open windows & inviting atmosphere. We stopped in for a spell where I enjoyed a beautifully prepared cafe mocha & chocolate croissant. I also took a sandwich to go which came in very handy later in the evening! Everyone was friendly & hospitable!
Good location & looked good in pictures but was very disappointed by the service in general & the apathy. Though supposedly air conditioned, it was hot for summer. The owner/operator took his own time taking the order even when we were the first in queue. Didn't seem very happy taking order anyway. Surprisingly, it was quite full, perhaps the regular customers.

É stato il nostro punto di riferimento durante il nostro soggiorno a Montreal, abbiamo fatto colazione qui quasi ogni mattina e il mio apprezzamento va specialmente al cappuccino, di ottima qualità apprezzabile anche da un Italiano, il migliore cappuccino tra tutti quelli provati in Canada. Andando oltre al fatto che il locale è un po' vecchiotto, puoi apprezzare il centro città dalla prospettiva della "veranda" vetrata mentre fai una buona colazione. Tornerei sicuramente qui.
La partie bar/restaurant, je ne sais pas mais la partie café ☕️ est très très bien. Les sandwichs sont excellents & le café pareil. Très agréable pour une pause encas /café.
Je mets 3 étoiles, car mon croissant jambon fromage était très bon ainsi que ma pâtisserie au chocolat. Cependant, lorsqu'on se trompe & qu'on fait un breuvage chaud alors qu'il a été demandé glacé on ne prends pas ce breuvage en le versant sur de la glace, mais on le RECOMMENCE. Le café était imbuvable & nous avons du le jeter. Conseil de barista à barista.
J'ai été au Café Castel seulement pour y faire une installation, je ne peux donc jugé de la cuisine. Mais j'ai trouvé l'endroit très beau & chaleureux & les gens qui y travaillent était très sympatique !
