Across reviews, Café Capybara comes across as a charming, ultra cute cafe centered on capybaras, offering a cozy vibe, a wide drinks menu with items like matcha, pistachio latte, taro, guava, coconut water based drinks, Seoul coffee, and specialties such as matcha creme brulee and dalgona style drinks, plus a back craft space and a rich array of capybara plushies and themed merchandise that many say adds to the fun. The atmosphere is described as welcoming and family friendly, with friendly staff who are often English friendly, though a few notes mention busy periods and understaffing that can make service slow, and some visits point to limited seating for casual coffee drinkers or occasional menu limitations. Overall the sentiment is that Café Capybara is a must visit for capybara lovers, a place to relax and enjoy creative drinks and crafts, with the decor and merch elevating the experience, and many expressing plans to return to try more flavors and participate in workshops.
Had a great first impression of this café yesterday afternoon!
I tried the matcha à la goyave (spent around 7-8 dollars) which was a first for me, & it did not disappoint. My friend tried the matcha crème brûlée. They offer a wide variety of drinks, some of them I have never heard before, & everything on the menu looked worth trying, I would definitely go back to try the rest.
The space is cute, you can buy plushies there & I think there are also DIY activities/workshops available in the back, but I'm not sure if it's a walk-in or you need to reserve.
The coffee shop is located right in the heart of downtown, very close to Concordia.
Is it worth a visit? Yes
Would I go back? Yes⭐?⭐?⭐?⭐?⭐?
Les breuvages sont bons. Mais le prix des articles pour faire des créations est vraiment trop chers, c'est exagéré.un étui à crayons pour 39$! & pas de la grande qualité.
The drinks are good. But the prices for craft supplies are way too high, it's outrageous. A pencil case for $39! & not even high quality.
This place is so cute & nice. There are a bunch of capybara plushies to buy, drink menu options are great, & a spot in the back to do arts & crafts! Would definitely visit again.
