My family & I were recently in Montreal, & happened to stumble upon this beautiful coffee shop. The atmosphere was so cool & the coffee & breakfast items we had were divine! Hands down the best pancakes I've ever had - paired with the most delicious iced latte. Montreal has the best coffee & food I've ever had, but this cafe holds a special place in my heart. Can't wait to go back ❤? added bonus: the owners are SOOO friendly. They both made the experience even better :) thank you so much Cafe Magnolia.
TLDR: Their pastries are served frozen; I wouldn't go back.
We came across this café on a walk & decided to stop in since the decor was cute & it had good reviews. We ordered a slice of carrot cake (which was quite pricey) & a drink. We took a table & sat down. When we started eating, we realized the cake was still frozen & rock hard, with ice inside. Since we had already paid for it, we tried cutting it into small pieces & waiting for it to thaw.
We debated whether to say anything but eventually decided to mention it. When we told them (the waiter &/or owner) that the cake was frozen, their explanation was as follows:'All our pastries, including croissants & cakes, arrive frozen. You need to leave them at room temperature to defrost.' We were never informed that we had to wait before eating it, they never warmed it up, nor did we have the time to sit around for it to thaw completely. I would think a café would serve their pastries ready to eat.
Overall, I'd rather go to a café where pastries are ready to eat when served.

Toujours un plaisir de venir bruncher au Café Magnolia. Personnel super accueillant & sympathique. Les plats sont bons & beaux. Meilleur latté caramel glacé 🫶🏻
Les oeufs bénédictine ici sont absolument parfaits avec des portions généreuses & cette sauce hollandaise est simplement divine & le café Magnolia accompagne merveilleusement le tout!
Terrific neighborhood café that locals actually frequent for Magnolia coffee not just tourists which speaks to consistent quality definitely here always!
Café très agréable & surtout calme, parfait pour travailler ou étudier sans être dérangé. L'ambiance est cosy, le personnel vraiment sympathique, & on y mange très bien. Mention spéciale pour les toasts à l'avocat, absolument excellents ! Une superbe adresse où je reviendrai sans hésiter.

Très bon café, nous y sommes allés pour le petit déjeuner/brunch. La cuisine est délicieuse, le choix varié & les produits sont de qualité. L'ambiance est top & le personnel est très aimable & de bon conseil. Je recommande fortement !

Café très accueillant, déco moderne. Le personnel est très sympathique & souriant. Les bagles saumon avocat sont excellents, les frites bien croustillantes. Nouvelle recette de panecakes au sirop d'érable très généreuse. Nous recommandons vivement. (Famille avec ados).
Superbe découverte ! Café cosy avec une ambiance chaleureuse, parfait pour se détendre ou travailler un moment. Les boissons sont excellentes, surtout le cappuccino. Le personnel est accueillant & souriant. Je reviendrai sans hésite
Accueil chaleureux & large choix au menu ! J'ai opté pour les pancakes au bacon, sûrement les meilleurs que j'ai mangés, un vrai délice. Merci Café Magnolia, je reviendrai !
